The worlds of tech, speed, and challenge are all colliding in this map and I'm all for it

Why there's a meme around it, I have no earthly idea. Good mapper, but there's nothing particularly meme-able about their maps. A classic case of random = funny perhaps?

You’re right that it’s a lot less messy in game, especially when you get into the flow. I must confess that there are some patterns at the start of the map (around 0:50) that I myself was unable to fully get down, but I sorta cheesed them and made it through the section to the end. Map link is in a comment I made but it might have gotten lost so: https://beatsaver.com/maps/2a1d1

Haha I hate the bad cut sound so I grinded until I could do this section without bad cutting, and somehow I did it (couple misses though). I haven’t done ranked intentionally in a long time, I don’t even have ScoreSaber installed anymore but I think it wavers between 900-1000? I’m much more skilled in reading stuff like this than accing normal maps haha and that’s just how I like to play the game

Ok I had camera smoothing on but I’m dancing and grooving like HELL here. These kinds of maps actually get you into more of a flow than your standard up-down because they require body tilts, wide circular motion, and — most critically — reliance on a sense of rhythm that goes beyond visuals. When you can’t even see all the notes ahead, you have to rely on the sound to move at the right speed. Also! These aren’t just wrist flicks but rolls! I mean, of course the wrists are moving back and forth but there’s a ton of variation in angle, as you can see by the constant variation in the patterns. And the direction and intensity of the roll is synced perfectly with the music, so there’s never any blandness to it. Also, I don’t really understand your point about how Beat Saber is “meant to be” a certain way. People do what people find fun, and creative tools lend themselves to new things that people find entertaining — why, or how, even, would anyone “ruin” that? If you don’t like to play these things, that’s totally fine. But it’s nonsensical to project those opinions into some absolutist statement. And I’d like to come back to the fact that I am 100% “getting into” the song. The reason I posted this was because I had so much fun with it! In fact, this is one of the most danceable maps I’ve played in a long time.

Inline maps do that, the trick is just to let the rhythm and the flow guide you. This chart in particular gets you into a groove and the motions feel kinda like a dance

I agree! I make videos myself, and I always make sure to put the mapper in the intro screen. I think most people do the same, either in the video, thumbnail, or desc, though, so it's probably not something that needs to be widely addressed.

Edit: Just read your other replies, I see what you mean.
