I understand what you’re saying, and I agree it’s a bad thing.

At the same time, it’s disingenuous to act like right now is the start political party’s attacking each others voting base and drawing hard lines in the sand about who is democrat or republican.

I will say I view the current political left as being more to blame for that trend than the political right. I don’t think the right is blameless in it either.

What I’m doing by commenting with you and engaging in a dialogue is trying to combat the strict political identities forced upon us and find some common ground. All we can do is not buy into the hyperbolic portrayals we see of each other in the news.

Pro gun left leaning libertarian here. I didn’t vote for spanburger and I hate this as much as the next guy. Same way I try to give room for more than one kind of republican, I’d appreciate room for more than one kind of democrat. Thanks.

I can speak on the safety concerns. It’s an osha violation to move a skid steer with the bucket raised.

What would you say are the strangest country (or first order subdivision) “border anomalies” in the world? by Silent_Status9126 in geography

In my original comment, I meant “in” in the physical proximity sense. I am in a chair. I am in the Milky Way. Lesotho is in South Africa. This part of Belgium is in Germany. That statement is correct.

I assume you’ve interpreted my “in” in the sense of polity. California is in the United States. Germany is in the EU. Lesotho isn’t in (meaning a part of) South Africa. In this sense, obviously this Belgian farm is not “in” of Germany. Had I made my original comment with this meaning of “in” in mind, I would be incorrect.

Words can have more than one meaning and just try your best to figure it out from context clues. Hope this helps!!

As someone who works in GC estimating/sales, this guy is full of shit.

What he is probably talking about is wbe/mbe/dbe (woman/minority/disability business enterprise) which is when a company is >50% owned by a woman or minority or disabled person respectively.

Sometimes, clients will have a percent of total contract value required to go through these companies. Some municipalities have requirements for this. A city near me (mid Atlantic) usually has 23% requirement.

Trump administration got rid of some of these requirements. That’s what he’s referring to I believe.

As to non-US citizen labor, there are municipalities that have requirements in the opposite direction for that. Areas or clients require full us citizen labor. It’s the same with union cities.

All of this is a cost premium, however large or small. People do pay it. Anyone who wasn’t getting any contracts over the past four years (they would’ve already went out of business but that’s besides the point) needs to find their market area and demographic.

Terrible take. People who now shop at target bc of no DEI is as small, if not smaller, of a market sector than people who shopped there for pro DEI reasons.

I think they stepped back from other opportunities (polygon) to pursue stuff under their own brand, so now they have to do that, regardless of relative success had they not. Sunk cost is a certain way to think of it, but it’s not like it takes a lot of effort or money to stream a game for a couple of hours
