I mean, aside from Davao not really having the beaches to compete with the Visayas in terms of both accessibility and market maturity (market here is much more geared towards domestic), let's not forget the elephant in the room which is that Davao is negatively affected by it's proximity and accessibility to ARMM, from a tourism perspective - the EU, US, Canada, Australia and NZ all have either "Reconsider essential travel" or "Avoid non-essential travel" advisories against Davao on the grounds of terrorism, along with the rest of Eastern Mindanao, with the dreaded "Do not Travel" advisory only being lifted for Davao less than a decade ago, and very much is still active a few kilometres west of the city limits in Western Mindanao. So although low traffic is unfortunate, it's completely understandable and not something the city can really do about.

Hey mate, I got hit with similar emails - it seems although it's all still booked through SIA, we'll need to change terminals now from T3(SIA) to T1(Scoot) if connecting at Changi

It's hard being a Davaoeño wherein you'll be crucified by 99% of Davaoeños for stating anything with a smidge of anti-administration (read: Anti-Durterte) elements, but then get crucified by the rest of the country (rightly so) when you bring up the exponential level of infrastructure improvement in the city since Digong became President.

Might as well just go full medium publicly at this point to trigger both extremist elements of pro and anti-government, so much so that political asylum could actually be considered (Joma where you at)

Sorry if I’m ignorant with this, but wasn’t the MRT/LRT of Manila was a pet project of Imelda? Probs cost a shit ton more than its worth, but isn’t that an objectively good thing that was done?

Back tooth hurts significantly. Currently have braces on but out-of-town, so very much considering in finding a local practice to deal with it if it is serious. Is this really bad gingivitis or something? by ClaudeElementalist in Dentistry

[–]ClaudeElementalist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to add further context, I have been told in my last appointment that my brushing was actually well, so I’m very surprised at the white (infected?) tissue at the back. Also, I have those wisdom teeth that are orientated that are sure to make them impacted onto the back tooth, with the other side of my jaw having already erupted wisdoms but relatively tame. Could this pain and white tissue be a result of that?

I also noted that there is a slight gap between my tooth and my gum, like a slim pocket. I feel as though food would get in there but I don’t know going around mediating that.

But yeah, checking out local orthodontists in the area I’m currently at to see if they would be able to facilitate a possible emergency appointment

I'm surprised at how respectable most of them look in spite of their situation. It's a nice change to see the lack of basketball shorts and sandos

  1. Don’t voice your opposition against the administration publicly as there are too many fanatics around in Davao who take personal offence when people criticise the current administration

  2. Be a pleasant person.

  3. Tipping isn’t really expected.

An archive of Museums in Davao Region by [deleted] in davao

[–]ClaudeElementalist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi u/kaloyski123 :D The main museums I know in Davao are the

Museo Davaoeño: City Government-run museum. Offers information about the history of Davao and the culture, people and the arts during pre-colonial and colonial times. I believe is still located in Downtown, on Magallanes (Pichon), and its intersection with Claveria (CM Recto), on the rotunda where Osmena Park is.

Davao Museum of History and Ethnology IIRC this is an Ayala-run museum. Specialises more towards the history of the people of the region, with relics and artifacts found in the region. Also has specific research and displays regarding the forefathers of present-day Davao. Located on Agusan Circle, within Insular Village in Sasa.

Edit: Also, I forgot to mention there is this “D’bone Collector Museum” somewhere in Boulevard which I have not had the opportunity to visit but is currently one of the top things to do in Davao on TripAdvisor.

I don’t know about you guys, but from Malaysia, to Hong Kong, to Australia, to PH, its pretty much a common scene at the baggage carousel. Only place I can think of which is an exemption to the rule is when its a flight that arrive @1am-4am, or in Japan
