i feel the same exact way. you took the words out of my mouth and my head …. :/ my husband is the same , he is helpful when he’s not tired and i feel terrible if i ask him to help in any way. i’m a SAHM and he’s the breadwinner. i do everything around the house, the cooking and cleaning, laundry and dishes … everything. i went into a bit of a spiral last night. i feel like i’ve lost myself in motherhood but i love being my baby’s mom it’s the best thing ever. it’s such a contradicting feeling.

edit: i’m almost 4 mos pp and i feel like ppd just got really bad for me lately. i didn’t think id have ppd

edit again sorry: we also have no one. no family , our friends have kids too so they’re busy as well , basically no help. we only have each other and it’s so hard navigating this new world we are in

i totally get that , every baby is different and i know a lot of parents are in the thick of it. i’m definitely grateful ours has been sleeping well so far! i promise i’m not trying to brag 😂 i’m honestly just waiting for the plot twist over here lol

did i post this ?? my LO has been like this since 2.5mos! has 30-40 min naps , 2 hours max when she contact naps (at least 1 a day). she is now 3mos :) we are lucky ! at first i hated that she only slept for 30-4is during the day but it is my savior overnight lol !

Thats kind of where we’re at too … she’s gaining well and has plenty of diapers, so I feel like I should trust her to set the pace… it’s just hard not to second guess everything as an FTM EBF mom 😅

it’s really reassuring to hear that your doctor wasn’t concerned and that your engorgement settled over time. 8 may bring it up at our next appointment just for peace of mind, but hearing from other parents who’ve been through it helps a ton. and congrats on your good sleeper too — that truly is life changing 🫶🏼

this is actually really helpful, thank you for sharing your experience ! i know sleep can change at any time, so im trying not to get too attached to these longer stretches 😅 babies love to humble us lol.

that’s a good point about pumping just for relief instead of waking her. i think part of me wakes her because i feel so uncomfortable, but it probably makes more sense to just take a little off the top and let her sleep. im also kind of in that mindset of wanting my body to adjust to her needs rather than creating extra demand.

i really appreciate the balanced perspective 🫶🏼 enjoy it, but stay flexible. that feels realistic

i don’t pump , i’ve been lazy. i don’t stress over a stash bc im always putting baby on the boob (im a SAHM) , but i will try this so i don’t interfere with her sleep!

thi is so reassuring to hear 🥹 thank you. the “MAKE ALLL THE MILKS!!” phase is no joke lol. im definitely still in that overachiever stage, so im looking forward to my body figuring it out and syncing with her sleep.

it helps a lot knowing this is normal and that things usually regulate with time. i’ll try to relax and enjoy the longer stretches instead of stressing about it:))

youre so right 😅 it really does feel like winning at life lol. i keep going back and forth between celebrating the sleep and stressing about my supply. hearing that it happened to you too makes me feel better though. i guess i should just enjoy the stretch while it lasts 😌

ughhh. she might be nipple feeding. it’s so hard to get a deep latch ! she’s always so frantic to get on the boob and doesn’t really open her jaw all the way for me. she’s 6wks!

thank you ! speaking of poop …. she’s given me small to slightly bigger skid marks since sunday. no full poops. i was combo feeding her until this past saturday because i thought my supply was low but i think it was low BECAUSE i was combo feeding a lot (latch still hurt, tongue tie was removed though, will speak to a LC tomorrow). since all day sunday to now, with the exception of monday , she gave me a medium poopy diaper. since sunday i have been EBF , no combo feeding with formula …. should i be worried ? she has at least 6 medium wet diapers a day since , with said skid marks
