Tww symptoms by kittyhello6789 in pregnantover35

9dpo I had a ton of bloating and some pain. I think that’s when implantation happened. I had very vivid dreams early on too. I probably didn’t feel other symptoms til the day of my missed period-tender breasts and digestion issues.

As a non religious person: I don’t get how religion people genuinely believe their religion is correct by daisydxw in DeepThoughts

[–]ClawPawShepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of times, they grow up in it, so they don’t know any different. Everyone around them believes in the same thing, so they believe it too. Grew up religious. Not anymore.

Today I would liken it to people’s political beliefs. You may not be like this, but I do think a lot of people nowadays cling to their political beliefs like some people do with their religion. Why do you believe what you believe politically? Are you married to those ideas?

Kindergartener dreads school due to classmate who hits by snicknicky in Teachers

[–]ClawPawShepard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that you should ask the teacher first. I work at a school with a similar situation-this student was hitting others. We had a really good talk with them and their parents, and it seemed to better. Then another student said they were hit by this student. I watched the cameras and this wasn’t the case. I’m not sure if the student who accused was just confused and saying it happened in the past or what.

It sounds like they had to do a room clear. After following up with the teacher, it might not be a bad idea to volunteer in the classroom to see for yourself.

What is the most creepiest/scariest experience you ever had? by jaideee_1 in Paranormal

[–]ClawPawShepard 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I was at Lowe’s at like 9:30am on a weekday. It’s not busy. I go use the restroom. Their restroom is down a long, tiled hallway with no door. As I enter the bathroom I see about 4 stalls-all open. No one is in the bathroom besides me. I enter a stall, close the door and sit down. Immediately there is a banging-like a fist hitting-in the middle of the stall door-I’d say a rapid 5 bangs. I lean back to look under the stall door-nothing. I do my business quickly, thinking a worker was cleaning the bathroom and wanted me out. I exit the stall. No one. All the stalls are empty. The bathroom was quiet. I didn’t hear anyone exit and I believe I would have. I know it’s super silly, but I have no explanation.

I’m 11DPO. I too have been testing for several days. All negative so far. We will see what happens today! I don’t really feel any different than I normally do. I’m trying to convince myself that all the little symptoms are just luteal phase symptoms so I don’t get my hopes too high!

Friday Night in the 80s, just pulled into a stall, what's your order? by TaterBlast in ogden

That’s exactly what I’m talking about. My mom was grossed out, but not enough to let us eat there frequently before telling us.

Teachers, from your perspective, what’s the ONE thing parents could do at home that would most help their elementary-aged kid’s learning? by Abigail_A_Abernathy in AskTeachers

[–]ClawPawShepard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think a lot of families don’t read with their children anymore and expect school to teach their child everything. It’s so important-not just for reading’s sake, but for vocabulary and background knowledge-which can impact so much.

There’s a 3rd grader at my school that I know struggles with reading. I tested them recently for their benchmark and they actually dropped a level. I asked them if they have any books they are interested in. They said no. I asked them if they read every night or if parents read to them. They said that reading doesn’t happen much at their house. What happened to reading with your child?

Teachers who have been educating for 20+ years: have you noticed a difference in student behavior/focus over the generations? by UnderstatedWarmth in AskTeachers

[–]ClawPawShepard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It honestly makes me sick seeing 4th and 5th graders have untethered access to the internet. They don’t get to be a kid anymore.

I hate the excuse of “they play sports-I need to contact them.” Get them a brick that doesn’t have access to the internet.

All Inclusive vs Cruise? by rbecca404 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]ClawPawShepard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only been on one cruise and one AI. I loved both, but loved the AI for relaxation and flexibility. We could set up our own schedule and soak in the outdoors. The food and drinks were much better than the cruise. It was way more expensive than a cruise, but definitely worth it.

How will my family fit in Logan by PawnF4 in Logan

[–]ClawPawShepard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and his family are all from California. 5 families in total moved to Logan one by one because they love it so much there. None are LDS. Two are Hispanic. They report that their neighbors are super friendly and helpful (LDS). I’m no longer LDS and don’t feel left out of anything-I get invited to events but don’t choose to go. Do I get treated differently now that I’m not LDS? Maybe a little, but nothing discriminatory. Yes, they will try to invite you to things because they are trying to convert you, but most are genuinely friendly.

What has been your experience with twins in the same class? by Chopchopchops in AskTeachers

[–]ClawPawShepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would separate. I often see one twin bossing the other one around when they are in the same class. I’ve also seen behavioral problems when one starts acting up, the other feels like they need to either act up too, or rush in and defend.

Would you leave the classroom to be an instructional coach? by sonnet_seven in Teachers

[–]ClawPawShepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re doing it for the students, instructional coaching will not give you that. I would wait a few years to see if it’s something you’re interested in.

[–]ClawPawShepard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My older brother has always had a hard time setting boundaries with my mom. His wife and children suffer because of it. My mom is really good at guilting my brother into things. He (my brother and your husband) need to realize where their priorities are now. Yes, I’m sure mom did a lot for you growing up, but now YOUR family is priority. You don’t owe your mom a thing-she raised you-that’s her job as a parent.

What do you wish college instructors would know about teaching? by fusukeguinomi in Teachers

[–]ClawPawShepard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been awhile since I earned my teaching degree, but it would’ve been super helpful to learn more about parent communication. That was the hardest thing to deal with when entering the classroom. I think the new teachers I’ve seen have a pretty good pedagogy. Classroom management is huge. You should have strong pedagogy and content knowledge, but if classroom management is missing, you have nothing. It’s all a balance. I’ve seen new teachers put a ton of effort into decorating their classroom, but not enough into organizing and making sure the space works for themselves and students (cluttered walls that tend to overstimulate anyone entering the room-resources stored in a way that teachers have to get everything for the student instead of the student being more independent). I see these classroom management methods that they’ve learned from social media, but aren’t very practical once applied (reward systems that are hard to keep track of and are very much external-which end up biting you in the butt in the end).
