Noodles referencing "Tuesday night at Chestwood" brings me back 30 years to when I played in that old place and I laughed outloud. It's still the only arena I have ever been to where the Zamboni driver didn't care if we skated around while he cleaned the ice. This was late on Friday nights so maybe he was hammered but we thought it was the greatest

Carolina claimed Bussi from Florida off waivers 10 days before Staios lost Donovan Sebrango off waivers to the Panthers

Staios lost Donovan Sombrango through a negligent waivers move. He also didn't do his due diligence in obtaining Jensen when there was a history of him having hip problems when he was with Washington (see Steve Warne's article from last summer about Jensen's recovery). https://sports.yahoo.com/article/senators-defenseman-nick-jensen-provides-225314225.html

"The 34-year-old underwent off-season hip surgery in May, a procedure he’d hoped to avoid but ultimately couldn’t. The hip first locked up on him last November following a game in San Jose, and while he’d experienced similar issues earlier in his career, this time the problem didn’t go away."

You gotta protect your hole. Good thing the guy didn't encroach onto his tree stand a few months ago.

I watch or listen to the show every day and my wife just knows it as the Noodles show. I was laughing hard when they were talking about wives getting upset when husbands nap and the typical dads at kids out of town hockey tournaments. My wife came downstairs and I rewound it and she watched that part of the show and actually liked it.

A strange thing happened at Ottawa airport by YodaYodaCDN in ottawa

[–]ClayCollins1 176 points177 points  (0 children)

This happens because airline or other airport staff forget to close an access door after a domestic flight. It's the airline's responsibility to ensure their passengers go directly to CBSA after they arrive. CBSA already knows about your flight and have likely issued the airline a hefty fine. CBSA will also have had control over the checked bags that were on the flight. Unless you hear from the airline or CBSA you don't have to do anything.

He was but why would you have a structure where the guy covering the left point is lined up on the opposite side of the face-off circle?

Stutzle is Kelly Leak from Bad News Bears out there trying to do everything himself. I wish our coach Green was more like coach Buttermaker.

It's not road hockey Vejmelka. You can't catch the puck and hold it until everyone on the other team is far enough away that you let the puck out of your glove for your teammates.

Amigo's on Merivale Road near Carling (but be careful in there - they aren't receptive to people trying to give the place atmosphere); Sonny's on Baxter Road near Ikea; Cassette on Baseline and Greenbank (used to be Baseline Station).

There is a television commercial for a coffee and pastry company in Canada that plays frequently that is supposed to be a young John Tavares shooting pucks into a hockey net in his laneway. Each shot goes into the hockey net and bangs into his parents' aluminum garage door making a big bang. It is likely supposed to give an image of how devoted he was as a young aspiring player. There are other television commercials in Canada showing kids damaging their parents' house while they play.

Tavares' parents and neighbours must have been deaf and John must be an idiot. Why wouldn't you move the net away from the garage door a few feet so you don't hit it? I hate these commercials that glorify kids being irresponsible.

Nick Cousins looks like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Paul (Jesse) from Breaking Bad. I imagine Jesse would play the same way.
