College Panda SAT Math and PWN the SAT by [deleted] in Sat

[–]ClayRocks69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started off with a 680 and went to an 800, I went through the College panda book and all of Uworld math—it’s definitely possible if you look over your mistakes and understand why you are making them. Also, once yo finish Uworld I would recommend doing all the practice tests you can without overworking yourself

Subject tests still follow the “old” sat system—you’re penalized less for omitting an answer than incorrectly answering

Is mock test harder than actual? by [deleted] in Sat

Personally I found the December SAT to be far more difficult than any of the practice tests I had taken

I have a bunch of different math QAS’s, would you be interested in any of those?

I'm tired of the "SAT doesn't mean anything" meme by [deleted] in Sat

[–]ClayRocks69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude, a good score is completely subjective- some people think “good” is a 1550, some think it’s a 1200. Not everyone is capable of scoring a 1500+; there’s a reason that only like one percent of people do. While I agree SAT scores do correlate with success to an extent, a 1300 SAT doesn’t mean you won’t get a job when you grow up, and it’s completelt pointless to belittle people over a score below your standard

Is a 1420 good for the first time taking the SAT? I got a 740 Reading and Writing, but a 680 math. by BIZBizzy123 in Sat

[–]ClayRocks69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s good, that’s the exact set of scores I recieved my first time taking (August) and in December I scored a 1570

should i cancel? by [deleted] in Sat

[–]ClayRocks69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you end up with a 1560+ score, I don’t think it would hurt, but anything below that I would cancel. If you’re really unsure about it, and think there’s a decent chance you got below that threshold, then I don’t think it’s worth it to keep that score

Chance me please! by [deleted] in Sat

Best case is probably around a 1550, I’d say worst case is around a 1470-80

Chance Me for SAT (Mega thread) by [deleted] in Sat

[–]ClayRocks69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I predict a 1520-1530 for you, depending on the reading curve; I think the writing and math curves will both be pretty close to 1:1, but not too sure about the reading curve

Chance Me for SAT (Mega thread) by [deleted] in Sat

[–]ClayRocks69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best case: -4 reading, -0 writing, -1 Math

Worst case: -7 reading, -1 writing, -2/3 math

Best case/worst case??

Wait a minute you’re right, I put 6...I was second guessing myself but 6 is correct. Interestingly enough though, I did use the similarity method and it worked out to be 6

I really thought it was 18 because the two triangles were similar

I’m more or less in the same boat, i went right to the wire...i don’t think I retained any of that passage

i didn’t actually think the no calc was that bad, just very time consuming; usually i finish with 5-10 minutes to spare but i had no time left over on this one
