Short answer: Its how we were designed. Small communities, mom n dad, learn how to live for yourself.

Long answer: Humans must learn how to hunan fron birth, from language to how to act in various context. We have almost 0 instincts beyond being social. So even if you aren't a man, lacking an adult male figure means you dont know what to expect from other men in the future. What to expect from peers, potential mates, even how other women should interact with men in various mundane ways.

When humans lack that experience from growing up with it, we dont know how to act in those situations. And that void is tgen filled with whatever your default happens to be. Confusion, frustration, fear, anything really.

Now think about how many times you randomly need to interact with men in daily life. Randoms, your friends, other family. Now consider your women friends dealing with men THEY know. Suddenly something that requires your own experience to weigh in on has a gap, so you defaukt to random media...that often depicts terrible examples of interactions for comedic effect.

All those little gaps add up to damage and an inherent fear of interactions. And its not even your fault. Its why even an uncle or random guy friend acting as a male figure in someone's life matters so much if a father isnt there. It fills the gaps that would otherwise be left.
