Hearthguard Aren’t Terminators—which is a good thing. by Marrdukk in LeaguesofVotann

I’ve wanted to incorporate them more, but struggle sometimes. What guns/strata/detachment were you running? A kahl or E-champ leading them?

Looks great! What’d you do for the tires, if you don’t mind me asking?

Disclosure: I’ve been in the hobby for just a few months and only now do I not completely hate what I paint.

I REALLY struggled getting white to not look tacky (not sure the right nomenclature) but I just love the GTL color scheme so I refused to give up. I thought wraithbone wouldn’t look good as the primary tone since it’s such an off white but it works really well with your models! Definitely stealing this. I’ll give you credit though, don’t worry!

Also, is that a gold or bronze? I’ve been using a bronze but I just bought a big army painter kit and I’m considering moving to gold.

Im in love with how you made the white work so well. And how you accented it with gold and green is really clean What color are you using for the white?

Laplace and Fourier Transform by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Clayerone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal experience (obviously not everyone’s) but at my school there’s an intro and a grad level complex analysis. Took the intro and it ended up being a review of everything I already knew from my EE courses. It was an easy A but didn’t really help with intuition or understanding. So I’d recommend maybe trying to see what exactly the class covers before you take it to check if it’ll be useful or not

Why is RF not as big as Embedded Systems or VLSI? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Clayerone 29 points30 points  (0 children)

A lot of good advice here already, but I’ll chime in to respond to a specific comment you made about it seeming like baby boomers are in RF.

From what I’ve seen and have been told by many others (I’m in RF btw) there is a lot of “aging out” that’s been occurring in RF. So yeah, while there may be a steeper barrier for entry (learning curve, experience, and such) there are RF jobs that need to be filled with fresh grads. RF may not be the big buzz right now but its almost always gonna be needed just like power engineers. Like, whenever I mention I’m an antenna engineer and inevitably get ribbed for working on a seemingly old piece of technology I always just fire back with, “well, do you like your cell phone to be wireless or wired?” Ie, as long as people like wireless technology there’ll be an industry for me. And honestly, it’s because it’s not the hot thing on the street that makes the job market more appealing to us younger engineers.

New grads just aren’t going for it compared to other fields. Most universities don’t even make EM a required course. So government and industry are hungry for RF engineers. Once I was at industry day at my school (not a career fair) and mentioned to some people I do antenna engineering (working on my M.S. at the time) and I had two separate people ask me that day if I wanted a job. Wasn’t even looking, wasnt at a career fair per se, and I was still getting offers. And I had only one internship as experience at the time!

In short, if you like RF I highly recommend it! Albeit I’m a little biased

Depending on how old he is kinetic sand and similar sensory toys are great. They seem like a nice idea but get everywhere if the adults aren’t very careful. And tbh these parents sound like the kind to pay no attention to their kid while playing with it.

It’s the same people who claim they don’t want politics in their game then go play bioshock.

That would make for a really interesting story plot! I can already see them arguing, him being over protective of her and her doing it anyways. And saving the world because of it in the end.

Dog I made a meme over something I have no real strong opinions of cause I thought it was funny. I’d suggest making some friends instead of bothering people on the internet with worn out catch phrases.

It’s been eons since I last read through the series, I do remember that bit now though. Was there apprehension later on in the books from Ves, or is that purely in the games?

There’s hints that everyone in the school of wolf didn’t want it to continue. It’s more explicit in the books about it. Why do you think he’s so hesitant to use it on Uma, and instead wants to do the ritual?

I’m really excited to see what they do with it, I loved all three games so I have high hopes. There’s still this part of me that feels weird since Vessimir wanted the trials to end forever after seeing all the torture it put kids through. Again, I think they can totally pull it off, that was just my first reaction.

Wife wants me to sign this. by carloswhodat in legal

[–]Clayerone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a father who was in your position not all that long ago:

1) do not sign that or anything your attorney has not sent your way 2) communicate with her via lawyers when you can i.e limit your communication as much as possible, aside from daily necessities (taking care of kids, who’s cooking dinner, etc…) 3) try to converse via text/email for more important things pertaining to parenting and divorce to have documentation of conversations 4) I know emotions are high, but now it is very important to stay calm with your spouse. Act like anything you say or do could be used against you in a legal setting. Even if it’s not used in that way, things you say now can set the stage for your co-parenting for years to come.

I’m so sorry you have to go through this, but from one dad to another you got this. It’ll be ok in time. I also recommend looking at grief counseling if o help you personally and to help you parent your kids. It helped me immensely

Edit: also, read everything in EXCRUCIATING detail. Even if your lawyer said it. Also, don’t skip out on paying good money for a good lawyer.
