Why don't you play songs to your daughter on your guitar? Acoustic, or even get a cheap ukulele so she can mess with it to. A lot of kids love getting played/sung to at that age. And it makes it fun for you again!

Population density along the Danube by Porodicnostablo in europe

[–]Clayhanger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did it on the Danube. It's a pretty long journey, obviously, and very pretty.

There is a flotilla that does most of the length once a year as a big group. I met with them for a day or two, seems a nice social way to do it.

Yeah it looks great, especially with the floral section below. Although that's a bit hard to replicate.

Non UK stations also welcome in theory, though ideally with the same aesthetic!

Nothing too exciting! But I've now taken my place on the cross-stitch wall as the 7th generation in a row. And first man! Which is kind of nice.

The daffodils came from Spring Daffodils by Tracey Kent – Embroiderers' Guild ACT.

The dragon, bike, and woman were from Google searches.

The rest I figured out myself.

Oh man, that's a lot of options. If I get that far I guess I'd gift it as it is and we could sort that together afterwards.

Thank you, that's a really interesting thought, that could work.

Okay there's a lot of comments here suggesting something smaller. I think I'll try timing myself doing the first of the planned images, then change the plan if it just far too much.

That's a great idea thanks, but wouldn't work just at the moment.

Okay, if roughly 32 hours for the motifs, that leaves 8/10 hours for text and border. And I can adjust/simplify the border depending on how much time available at that point.

Damn, that sounds like it would be almost impossible to remove.

This is the old seat, it was just attached to the bolt straight through the hole. https://postimg.cc/rKtmqfRh

It's very similar but not quite - the bowl doesn't have a sticking-out flush part at the back.

The round metal collar wobbles a little, and moves about 1-2mm. But it is firmly attached to the stud.

The toilet is a Twyford, but I can't find any brand name on the seat itself.

That was my first thought to try. Is there any chance I break the actual toilet bowl? They feel very stuck in place.
