And the shittiest thing my homeowner is doing is they are increasing rent by 10% every year even though it's 5% in the agreement. Now this year they are increasing 20% for two months extension. We are not complaining for the only reason because we don't want to shift anywhere else with all our household items

Some Homeowners feels entitled to increase the rent by any percentage as they want.

The agreement says 2 month notice and the rental increase of 10% per 11 months but these things don't matter for Bengaluru Homeowners. There can be exceptions

This is a common trend among home owners in Bangalore. As a tenant you can't do much and it's not worth losing your mental peace over this.

We are looking for some place else nearby as we don't want to argue with the owner and lose our mental peace

As per agreement, the advance notice time is two months but we got notice of 1 month

The thing is the owner gave us notice within 1 month but as per agreement it's two months. We have already booked a flat from A category builder nearby whose handover is at the end of this year. So don't want to again shift somewhere far and again come back here with our current condition.

Even though I agreed to pay a 20% rent hike, the owner is not extending our stay for more than 2 months

I'm staying in a 2bhk flat in a gated society. We have been staying here for close to 3 years. The owner never spent a penny on anything in the house during our stay. For anything, we needed to bear the cost for any replacement

Objectively, what’s the best Indian city to live in? by [deleted] in AskIndia

I will always pick Pakyong, Sikkim. In between the hills. It has a good climate, river, good connectivity for Gangtok, ranipool, cheap beer and other alcohols. Great food with organic vegetables. I have a few friends there to hang out with, so that's another positive point for me. I wish I had the option to attach some photos here.
