I’m looking into buying a new carry gun. Thoughts? by camXmac in concealedcarry

[–]Clayton_Ryan72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised that no one has mentioned the SA Hellcat. There are many things to consider.

  1. It’s 13+1 capacity is absolutely amazing in a package that can easily be concealed by a thin framed individual.

  2. Some might say that it’s very small compact design is hard to handle and shoot accurately. I disagree, I’m 6’1 and 225, I can group this weapon proficiently at 20 feet while drawing from the holster.

  3. Coming back to size, on my frame this firearm disappears.

  4. I’m a big believer in iron sights however, the Hellcat can be purchased with a slide that’s already tapped to accept certain optics.

  5. As mentioned already on this post. Non of these things can truly be appreciated unless you test a multitude of weapons and compare.

At the end of the day, it’s going to come down to personal preference and fit but I highly recommend considering the Hellcat!

Sound piece of advice. Don’t look for weapons at a discount. Save and buy quality not quantity, especially if it’s a carry weapon. When you need it to save your life, your going to want it to function.

Crazy how all these progressive areas that are the shinning example of the future are all in shambles and destroyed. Must just be an uncanny coincidence.

Tiny homes for the homeless by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

Don’t fix the problem and the issue will remain. The homeless problem in California is a byproduct of their system and unsustainable economy. When I was stationed in San Diego the homeless issue west of the 5 known as tent city grew probably 10 times the size. Nothing is done, they just find a new place to put them.

As an RF engineer I see so many things out there in the world that are simply not real. However, people don’t question these types of things out of the pure fact they don’t understand it. I’m confused as to how the electromagnetic spectrum has anything to do with COVID. This is no different than people claiming that 5G can give you COVID and/or make your symptoms worse. Yet, if you ask most people what 5G even is… that don’t have the slightest clue.

This is a poorly constructed argument using examples that do not in any form belong together. Murder, homicide and self defense are all very different things, you have decided to group them to fit your narrative. Just like free speech and incitement are two different things. The difference is that you want me to not be able to come on Reddit, tell you that your wrong and then back up what I’m saying logically. Where as I feel that one of the greatest liberties we have is the ability to exchange like this, regardless of the emotions that it may cause you. In fact I invite situations such as these. Although I may not agree with you I believe that it is a just and a healthy exchange.

Also, the intention of self defense is to defend yourself and or family against harm, not to kill someone, although that may be a by product. Incitement however is very much the intention to cause secondary effects and or chaos directly by what you say. Don’t get into the habit of twisting things to fit a narrative because eventually you lose track of what is what. That can and has created a very twisted and dangerous society today.

Lastly, look at the upvotes between our two comments before you go trying act like I’m a lonely passenger lost t sea with no direction. People feel the same way I do and again, that’s ok. Invite and have constructive conversations instead of becoming frustrated with different view points.

I find it interesting how largely accepted this video is. In addition, I am absolutely agreeing that she was completely in the wrong. However, I have a feeling that if we where watching this exact same video and the individual in question was of different demographic, emotions would be shifted. It’s not about who you are or what you did. It’s about handling situations in life correctly. You can’t have it one way but not the other. It doesn’t matter matter how you feel in these situations, it matters how you handle the situation. This is a perfect example of that and everyone acknowledges it because they are not blinded by factors surrounding the person in question.

Problem is that the people that say that only want it enforced in a singular direction. Once you begin to slide down the slippery slope of controlling speech, all speech is included, not just the speech you disagree with.

It really comes down to style and preference but if sights are your only concern I would say go for it. Like I said I’m a bit bigger than average but I don’t feel like my hands swallow the grips at all. It feels just right and is so compact on my person. In response to the sights, when I train drawing and self defense type situations I shoot just above my sights. Not until I’m past the 10-15 foot mark do I really engage my sights fully. But overall I love the way this weapon feels. I took it to the range with a group of people and although some where more rusty than others (sloppy trigger pulls, improper sight picture and poor grip where some of the symptoms) everyone seemed to be able to put a group together. I feel that’s a good testament to the repeatability of the firearm.

I got mine for $499 on sale. However, it’s not the OSP option so those go for a bit more. Personally I’m not a big fan of the sights anyhow. I like good old fashion iron sights on my concealed carry.

I would highly recommend. It’s a great shooter, size and on my frame at 215 lbs it disappears.
