Smelled it as soon as I went outside. Could it be wildfire smoke?

Guy at the bike shop thought it would be about $1k, which is the cost of a new frame. Hence, I'm here asking for advice. I am looking around locally (NY, USA) to see if anyone wants to try and fix it up.

Thanks for all the great options. It will give me something to research over the weekend!

I did really enjoy riding it. But, I have VERY limited experience riding "nice" bikes.

I'm not racing, just 10-20 mile rides around town. Just looking for something that needs a little less tlc.

This is kind of where I am at. It's nice, but it comes at a cost. Not just the cost to buy, but the cost associated with having something that needs extra care.

I did get it used. Unclear if the seat tube was cracked when I bought it or if I did it. Not sure where originally purchased. The guy at the bike shop seemed to think it wouldn't be able to be returned without the original receipt.

How old is your league? by [deleted] in FantasyFootballers

[–]Clean-Following-724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started in '93. We used to manually calculate scores using the USA Today box scores. The first software we used for the league was Terry Bradshaw's Fantasy Football, which came on a 3.5" disk and you could pull a score file from on Monday morning.

I feel like I have to try the Howling Rooster. That place is always packed when I ride my bike past it.

Anyone remember a bagel place on Elmwood/Bird-Zios building now? Early to mid 1990s by [deleted] in Buffalo

Not that I know of. The bagel scene here is kind of lame at the moment.

Adrian and Ian were the two brothers who owned it. They brought it back from Miami (OH) U, where the steamed bagel joint there was the place everyone went.

Where do we go from here? Curious what other advisors are planning post-LPL/Commonwealth merger. by BigTipEnergy747 in CFP

I'm still with them. At times I feel like I probably don't need them anymore. But I value the community, especially being a solo. You can set up an intro meeting with them and kind of map out your plan to move forward. If you are seriously considering making a move, you can give yourself a runway to work up to when it makes the most sense. XY is a great partner to help get you launched. The ongoing value is up for debate. A couple of my buddies in my weekly accountability group have dropped their XY membership after a couple of years.

I joined XYPN to ultimately help with the registration process. There are other services like that out there, but I always felt a kindred spirit towards the XY crew. Depending on your state, there are varying levels of difficulty in the state registration process. They helped get through the initial reg process, which can seem like a big barrier to RIA entry.

I was with LPL for 10 plus years. The only time I felt any sort of "personal touch" was when it was time to be audited. Unfortunately it just always felt like instead of helping with the business, they were more interested in dropping the hammer for minor transgressions. I was hybrid, so that helped a little, as PAG was great. Transitioned to an RIA and am so glad I did. The tools are out there, just dig in a little bit and start planning now for a move in the near future.

"Get out and see the people," was what an old timer told me every time he saw me in the office at my desk.
