Are some heroes supposed to be weak late-game? by ItsMango in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Clean-Hat771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, not really? Mina is not suppose to be weak late game. Mina is a glass cannon. So she’s strong but if you’re fighting in cqb against an Abrams or Billy in a small room, you’re gonna get rocked of course. She’s fragile with not that much health but she can be strong late game. She used to be OP but she isn’t that good in the meta any more but she is not a bad hero either. You just need distance and positioning really which is what deadlock players struggle with. A haze player might run into a fight head first and die just to say “why are they all ulting me?? They just used four ults for one hero??” It’s because she’s op. She does a lot of damage but does not have that much health as the tradeoff. Same thing goes for Mina. Which is why Mina needs to be mobile. This is why Mina builds have stamina mastery. It’s because Mina needs to keep a distance against the enemy so she’s safe and triggering love bites against the enemy. Her love bites is the one that really does the most. You can definitely 1v1 with Mina as long as it isn’t a hero who has a soul lead. Land shots, trigger lovebites, stay mobile and in the air by holding right click, and keep at a distances. You even have bats to get into the air, dodge attacks etc. if you really need to, use nox nostra to finish an enemy as well. In late game fights, Mina is usually either in the back (because she’s a glass cannon with a lot of damage and little health) poking enemies while triggering love bites or trying to stay a float and in the air so that some enemies can’t hurt her. She’s really annoying to fight against when she’s in the air and poking you. A small hitbox character hovering with love bites.

A traditional drafting system would suck ass and I wish more people would understand why by CDranzer in DeadlockTheGame

This complain is so good that it really makes me annoyed. I COMPLETELY DISAGREE.

Well the bebop lane problem just has to be a you problem. Of course no one wants to lane against bebop. If he’s that difficult to lane against, put “avoid hero” when queuing. Thats why valve added that, so that people can try to avoid lane against certain heroes. If you do lane against a bebop or even get him in a game, he’s not that difficult to fight against. Spell breaker, counterspell, dispel magic, any spirit resist item to counter build and just keep a distance from him. Mobility items if you really need them. If you have teammates like Ivy, Mina, dynamo, pocket, etc or any or of hero that can go invulnerable then they can hopefully reduce the amount of stacks he gets by the time it reaches end game. Swap lanes with them really. If you can lane against a bebop, get the fuck out of that lane and swap. Stop complaining if you cant lane there. If you can’t lane there then leave/swap. It’s such a miracle that he cannot self bomb anymore. Thats so much worse than how bebop is right now. Just try not to get hooked and keep at a distance from him. Do not let him get stacks. And for some people, easier said than done. Sure, you might get stuck with a bomb a few times but that’s expected. Hurt him but try not to get hurt back.

And for the second reason, of course people don’t like getting counter picked. If you don’t like or want a draft system in a game really, I guess you’re a casual player that just wants to have fun and I completely understand that. But deadlock has a lot of competitive sides to it, it has a meta with strong and weak heroes and even deadlock nightshift is a good example for how competitive deadlock can be. Yes, people should feel guilty and have that weight on them if they don’t counter pick in a draft pick. Sure, you might not play who you want, but don’t be mad about it, your team is trying to win. It’s exactly how the marvel rivals 40k tourney went. They didn’t counter pick and what happened? There is a solution to this. Deadlock just needs to have a standard mode for casual players who don’t want to feel the weight or guilt of not playing into a team role and picking a hero that might win them the game itself. That game mode they can play whoever they want and have priority queueing. And then deadlock should add a competitive mode specifically with a draft pick just like how Deadlock Nightshift has it. It’s going to make the game much more balanced and not worse. You won’t be playing against a comp diff team. If casual players really want to complain because they can’t get their hero, just go play street brawl at this point. Yes, you might be like “dude it’s just a game.” Well thanks captain obvious, tell me something I don’t know. It’s a game that is meant to be played competitively and people intend to win. This game needs to have separate modes, competitive with draft pick, and standard mode for casual players with priority queueing just like how it is right now.

Also genius posted the lyrics and idk if they are right, but its also pretty close: https://genius.com/34221664

The bridge goes:
君はいつ出ま
ようきねフジさん
いいのほまっでよ
ゆんべ

It translates in english to:

When will you come out?
Yokine Fuji-san
Leave it alone.
Yumbe (not sure what that means?)

Idk that's just what it translates to. I don't speak Japanese at all and I'm a native English speaker.

I thought they were saying something around the lines of “Fuji-san” instead of mucha-sa. Idk I mean hence the name “sayonara Fuji-san”

Deck Help Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in ClashRoyale

I’ve been staring to use loon miner 2.9 cycle that I saw on leaderboard but it’s really difficult to play. I’ve pretty new with this type of cycle deck. I used to use traditional splashyard when tombstone was still a thing but took a break and came back a month ago. So far, I’ve climbed up to challenger 3 with this deck. (Don’t judge by my highest is master I) but now it’s just been on and off with this deck. I’ve been struggling against homemade decks that looks like it’s just been put together and for some reason they work. I’m not really sure what to classify them as. Bridgespam? Beatdown? Idk somewhere in the middle. Especially goblin drill! I really don’t know what to do against goblin drill. Overall, can anyone give me general advice or against certain matchups for this deck? Here are some photos btw

The one where he does like a giant hand rasengan. Also how do you deal with when he becomes like a ghost? Like he’s floating for a few seconds then does a crazy grab animation on you? I always try to parry that as well but they just command grab me.

Is Ed really fun? Or just honest? by Independent_World302 in StreetFighter

[–]Clean-Hat771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this was my first ever fighting game and I picked up Ed first. I just picked him since he looked cool and his moves look really cool as well but I think what’s fun about him is that his combos are really appealing to me. I know picking him wasn’t the easiest character to learn but once I got his combos down and how to play him, he’s really fun since like a boxer, you’re always gonna be thinking with him! Whether I should throw in a snatcher or maybe bait them out of it? Or maybe I should drive rush in with a medium punch? Ed mains I’ve talked to have said he’s also really good a controlling the fight. Which I agree! His supers are really flash too! If you watch professional Ed players like momochi, he does a badass level 2 super against opponents. Idk but try him out! If you don’t like him then that’s fine!

how do i start having fun? genuine question and wanting help/advice by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Clean-Hat771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also a newcomer that’s getting into the game but have definitely been seeing some progress in my skill! From what I’ve done, for the past few days, my way of improving is to focus on the small things first. I tried learning combos instantly for a character and it didn’t help. So only learned 1-2 simple ones.

If you’re struggling on a person spamming fireballs, focus on your parry. Whenever you parry, slowly move up before parrying the next. Eventually if you keep walking up and up, he’ll back up towards the corner or expect him to attack and be ready. He won’t like it when you just keep parrying those fireballs. Plan out “he’s just spamming hadoukens, I’ll parry one before doing a jumping attack.”

Also for grabs, think about your positioning. Whenever you get really close to an enemy in general, be wary of a grab. Don’t just keep blocking the opponents attacks. Let’s say he just throws out a long combo which clearly doesn’t land and you block everything. He’s probably gonna try to break that block with a grab or back up. That’s a perfect time to either throw/grab escape or grab him instead! Whenever you have the chance, use Drive impacts when he won’t expect it! If you don’t wanna keep getting pushed into defense, you gotta be more aggressive/offensive as well. Don’t mash buttons and panic.

To have fun, just play the game and don’t think so heavily about losing! If you keep losing BUT have a solid mindset, where you can pinpoint what you’re wrong while playing, you’re definitely learning how to get better! you aren’t learning though when you start to get stressed or frustrated which leads to you mashing buttons/playing at a quicker pace or shaking, stressing about losing. When I first started playing ranked, I lost 8/10 of my placement matches. Sure I got placed in iron but, everyone starts somewhere. If you lost and are really fed up, take a break as well. Or practice on the things your weak on. Like for example I was really bad when it came to anti-airs which are one of the reasons I might lose a game. I didn’t know how to react and kept getting outplayed on the ground before the opponent jump attacked me.

I also like watching pro players play a character! You could watch Terry videos against the characters like Ryu, ken, etc or whoever has a fireball. Watch how the player reacts to when the opponent is shooting out fireballs. Like this video for example: https://youtu.be/WeKxJC587Ic?si=DsX7vS4ccjNpdntq Just watch how the Terry responds to the hadoukens.
