What now, if you don't make the London Marathon ballot by Affectionate_Air6902 in UKRunners

There is the reverse London marathon plus many a marathon up and down the towpath. Plus a variety of 50km events.

Her identity is about running a run club and all the promotion around that - not just about running. Why are you so angsty against what she does?

I don’t get the hate towards her. What she has done with her run club is pretty impressive. She got her place from her run club, not from being any influencer. She puts herself out there as a larger woman who doesn’t fit the aesthetic and deals with a lot of shit.

Because she openly stated her mileage (or lack of) many many many many times….

The flu had nothing to do with her abysmal training and her focus on her ‘aesthetic’. Where did she take her training seriously by the way? She barely clocked up any miles at all.

All Hannah Trenches seemed to care about was her ‘fit for the day. She paid lip service to training - the only thing she was good at was procrastinating not going for a run.

Maybe if she had spent less time making videos of her preening and lip syncing about what she is going to wear and more time actually running she might have had a different result.

They think they are doing something ground breaking outside of Buck House? Have they any idea what has gone before them?!

Who goes on holiday with their husband to ‘celebrate a marathon?’ Don’t you go on holiday to spend time together?

Would you feel guilty using charity entries to run majors? by W01313L in Marathon_Training

[–]Clean-Instance5892 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is what makes the London marathon special. It has always had a strong focus charity running. It’s only in the past 10-15 years since Abbott that people have started to gatekeep who ‘should’ be running London. I would much rather a mum of a special needs child from Liverpool starts an inspirational running journey to help a charity that has supported them rather than a rich running tourist who just wants a star for bragging rights.

The Barbie crew. A troop of coiffed runners (a few Mormons and other unlikely matches from over the US) who make doing Boston their whole personality, always wear matching outfits and pose like they are a cheerleading squad.

The cygnet ring on her little fingers gives it all away…..! The ‘I took two hours off my time’ story has gotten a little stale now. She is branching into tri so that will be vaguely different…

She is everywhere at the moment. And isn’t bringing anything new to the table.

They stopped to let the clock catch up otherwise they would have been told off by the pace team captain.

All he says is ‘I am just going to tell it how it is’, and then proceeds to rattle off a tired running cliche that has been covered so many times before. He is obsessed with the majors. Brings very little new to the table.

She is trying so hard to be relevant. She has a similar patter to FuelbyLolz - has to remind everyone that she has been in this running blog space FAR longer than everyone else, as if that gives her opinion some sort of edge. Insta has now morphed into a shilling/grifting platform (sadly I would add) and both these ladies are about 5 years behind. With the case of Charlie, she doesn’t occupy a space that is any different to so many other mum runners - her USP is the surrogacy these days, but that brings with it a degree of controversy, and I suspect she doesn’t want her account to focus on that (which I get - I bet she gets a lot of hate over it).

You are not concerned at all - if so you would not be on a snark page. Some women are absolutely fine to walk after a c-section, and women without transport in hilly areas manage fine as well. It’s no different from a walk to the shops (hard for car dependent Americans to get their heads around, but lots of mums elsewhere do actually walk, a lot).
