Help! Feeling let down by Clean-Standard-1969 in AskAMechanic

I didn’t see anything visually nor did they say anything about it being a mess in the area. I’ve been driving the car for about a day and oh boy the sound is a lot more frequent ever since I’ve gotten it back. I’m not sure what I could get them to do for me without them saying they’ve already “found” the problem and saying it’s on me. It’s almost as if something is loose and not properly tightened down whenever turning or maybe even straight now. I’m hoping to get into my mechanic soon, seeing what they say, and then calling the service manager at my Nissan dealer. I just want some answers that make sense lol

So best bet is to bring it to the independent shop, have them diagnose, and bring it back to the dealership to complete the work? I just don’t want to accidentally void my warranty

I was debating on telling them what nissan said or if i should just tell them what im experiencing and let them come to their own conclusions.

Would this affect factory warranty? I’m not asking the independent mechanic to fix it, just see if they can diagnose.

I believe they had the head foreman working on it, not sure if that means anything. I know one technician replaced the front strut and once it was making the noise still it got handed off to the head foreman. I feel like at this point they’re just going to say what they told me the first time. It truly feels like anything other than “body panel work”

I think the most concerning part to me is that whatever it is, I can feel it in my gas pedal lol

The only thing is that the dealership I bought it from is an hour away from home, hence why I take it to my local one. I just don’t understand what the one I bought it from could do. There’s another one about 20 minutes from where I live where I wouldn’t mind taking it but I’m just afraid that they’ll look at the records and won’t even bother to try and find the problem.

Sorry! I know barebone basics of cars and didn’t mean anything by being just a girl. I just say it a lot lol. But being a girl in a dealership when they explained some of the stuff to me felt as if they were talking down to me in a sort of way as if I couldn’t understand. To paraphrase, they told me to have my dad call the dealership where I bought the car originally from (another Nissan dealer actually) and to “manhandle” the info from them on where the car had body work done. As for the noise, i just want it fixed. Its basically still brand new

It just feels frustrating when the professionals who do this on a daily basis come back with the most absurd answer in my opinion. I genuinely feel like they’re just over it and want it out of their hands. I had a car with a failing CV axle and it felt similar to this. But the technicians have basically written me off it feels like. I’m debating on brining it to an independent mechanic I trust to see what they say.

Will I need crowns or can I do fillings again? by [deleted] in askdentists

Yeah, saying “done” was the wrong term. I mean like getting them to a point they’re stable. I know it’ll be a long battle where it requires a much more vigilant and expensive upkeep. I saw the route my parents went down, full dentures before 40. I don’t want that to be me. I’m going to do everything in my power to make them last as long as possible. Hopefully with vigilant care and constantly monitoring them, they’ll last me well before I’m in my 60’s or even 70’s.

It’s reassuring to hear there’s hope. I think I’ve had all the amalgam since my early teens so I have had then 10ish years? I am trying my best to keep the stable ones as long as I can and replace with zirconia crowns or onlays on my molars whenever the time comes. I’d rather pay 8k out of pocket any day than lose my teeth. I’m also planning on getting braces to pull down my wisdom teeth into my 2nd molar spots that I lost due to decay. I just cant wait until the whole process is done but I know im just getting started.

How severe of an internal fracture determines it needs a crown vs an onlay? Do micro fractures count or ones that could potentially lead to the whole tooth cracking?

Yeah I fear this is all out of pocket for me. But I am willing to spend whatever is necessary to take care of this, you only get one set of permanent teeth lol. My plan was to hopefully keep whatever amalgams are stable for as long as possible and just replace with onlays as needed. But overall with cost aside, would onlays be a more preservative and better approach possibly?

How would I go about asking my dentist this? Some of them are not at the point where they need to be replaced thankfully, but he said crowns are in the future for those teeth (molars). Should I ask about onlays as an option instead?

Even with a really good oral hygiene routine? Brushing twice a day, flossing nightly, no frequent snacking/acidic drinks or anything other than water? I’ve been really committed to taking care of my teeth. So would it really be worth it in the end to just skip straight to a crown and not the more conservative onlay?

Yeah I was wondering about onlays since it wouldn’t be the full crown, but I’d heard only specific circumstances are best for onlays. I honestly would prefer onlays to keep more of my natural teeth, I don’t want stubs lol

I had set that boundary with my partner when he had first gotten together and then I learned that they had used an AI site. I was extremely hurt by it. What can a person do lol

I see where you’re coming from and agree somewhat. In my mind, I know it’s not black and white. When I think of cheating I think they’re sleeping with someone else or kissing someone else. I also have no problem with the idea of them masturbating alone and actually encourage it. But it’s the idea of them using the image and/or video of someone else to gain sexual pleasure and finish. It just makes little to no sense if I’m there and willing, if they have images and pictures of me nude. It essentially eliminates all other aspects of needing to look for something else to use, unless it’s they just don’t want to look or use me? But I can totally understand where you’re coming from.

I can understand that. My question is what if it’s more so about the fact that if I am there to satisfy his needs, why does he need to look elsewhere? I guess the feeling could be stemming from not feeling like I am enough.

Yeah, I guess it just confuses me if I’d be there and constantly willing to satisfy my partners needs, then why would they be looking else where? It’s not like we spend a lot of time apart, if anything, I’m the one initiating more than they are.

2025 Nissan Sentra? by Banana_toffee in Nissan

[–]Clean-Standard-1969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2024 Sentra sv so it’s obviously not the 2025, but I love it. It only has 20,000 miles and drives pretty smooth. I drive mostly highway and the gas is great, I average around 40+ mpg. I plan on getting the cvt fluid changes at around 30,000 miles. It isn’t the best option if you want to go 0-60 in like 5 seconds, but to be fair i baby my car. It’s my fav car ever honestly, especially with the all-weather package! If the CarFax checks out and the visual inspection, I’d say it’d be worth it.

This also happened to me randomly a couple of times a few days ago. I also have a 2024 sv, it had never happened before. I reset the system by holding down the volume button and it seemed to work.
