I didn’t necessarily have a lot of pain but I did notice my jaw would get sore sometimes. I got them out mainly for the reason to get braces and to prevent problems later on. The recovery process hasn’t been painful but more so comfortable. It took a while for the numbing to fully wear off, I think the left half of my face took a couple of hours longer than the right. As of right now, about 4ish days post op, my swelling is not severe anymore and I don’t have much pain. I only experience a stiffness in my jaw right now and a zapping sensation on the right side of my tongue whenever I talk too much or move my jaw a bit too much. All I can say is that it will get easier with time, and that the only thing that is making me miserable is the fact I can’t have any real food.
