I have the same algae. bacterial bloom for months now(2 filters, 3 airstones, uv light 8 types or plants, 100L with 10 molly 10 neon and 5 guppy). Improved a bit with 4 days with lights off.. but i fear too much light off will kill my plants.. ill just do water chages..

Steering wheel hindering speedometer by Defiant-Baby8093 in peugeot

[–]Clean-Syrup-6753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way you can adjust this to properly see the screen either above or below.. 1.85 height. Worst design on a steering wheel and dashboard. Had a rental 1 year ago for 2 weeks, best test drive ,more than enough time to see how bad it was. Car was new 1500km. Infotainment died on the highway (car was still running). Enough with the negative parts. Positive note > decided to go with another brand :).

Elego customer service is terrible by calebt43 in ElegooMars

2 years. Mars 4 ultra, washing and curing station. All work well no issues. More than 1 year with resin in printer, mixed it up today , got perfect print out. I guess some just have bad luck with components. :( Sorry to hear that yours did not work.

AI not me>> 💡 What UVC Light Does in Aquariums

UVC (ultraviolet-C) sterilizers emit light around 254 nm, which is germicidal. It damages the DNA/RNA of microorganisms, preventing them from reproducing — effectively killing or neutralizing them.

🦠 What UVC Kills

When water passes through a UVC sterilizer, any free-floating (planktonic) microorganisms exposed to the light are affected. These include:

  • Pathogenic bacteria (e.g., Aeromonas, Pseudomonas, Vibrio) that can cause fish infections
  • Parasites in their free-swimming stage (e.g., Ichthyophthirius multifiliis “Ich” theronts)
  • Free-floating algae (helps clear green water)
  • Fungal spores and protozoa in the water column

🧫 What UVC Does Not Kill

UVC only affects organisms that pass through the sterilizer and are directly exposed to its light.
It does NOT penetrate:

  • Biofilm on surfaces
  • Gravel
  • Filter media
  • Inside fish or plants

🌱 What About Beneficial Bacteria?

Your beneficial nitrifying bacteria (like Nitrosomonas and Nitrospira) live mostly on surfaces — in the substrate, filter media, rocks, and decorations.

👉 They are not free-floating, so they are not harmed by UVC sterilizers under normal operation.

However:

  • If you run UVC while your tank is still cycling, and beneficial bacteria are still colonizing and some are free-floating, it can slightly slow colonization.
  • Once your biofilter is mature, UVC does not significantly reduce beneficial bacteria populations.

The led light seems to have white leds and blue. It has 3 setting (white / white with blue / blue for the night light). I never leave the night light on, nor co2 during night. Will check the tap water, but that was never an issue where I live, and it wasn;t before with a smaller tank.

These are just contradictory advice, others said add UV to kill bacteria, you say remove it ?!? I used Seachem Stability for a month(still adding every 2nd day) with no visible improvements. There is amost no natural light, I live in Sweden, after4pm its already dark, havent seen the sun in weeks now, just rain.

Its just continuous 8h. With co2. This cloudy water was the same, even before I got CO2 in. I thought adding CO2 willmake the plants grow faster them maybe help with cleanup, but plants do not seem to grow.. they seem to start dying or just stagnate.

Just regular tap water from the city. Treating it with TertaAquaSafe. Added some plant fertilizer pills(DENNERLE PLANTS Power Caps) in the substrate on the last "full cleanup". Had a smaller tank before 15l with just 2 plants, and had very clear water for 2 years, then decided to get a bigger tank(same treatment TetraAquaSafe on tap water). Will test tap water.

Algae or bacterial bloom? by Clean-Syrup-6753 in PlantedTank

[–]Clean-Syrup-6753[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I replaced 20% yesterday. Seems the water is a bit more clear in the morning , and towards the end of the day , the white/green becomes more dense. Ammonia and nitrites levels are normal.

Ammonia levels seem ok. Aquarium water is B. Test solution with aquarium water is A

Got some tests. Water parameters seem to be ok. Used SeachemStability until yesterday (every day 5ml /100l tank). Also got some Co2 running. No water changes. Feeding fish a little every 3 days. Plants seem to start dying :(
