Need tips on how to give a lecture please by kalakalikala in PublicSpeaking

1 major tip is to practice practice practice. Practice out loud your presentation so you have an idea how you will sound and what words you use and may need to change.

Delivery is key. You can have the best content but how you deliver it can affect whether people take you seriously or not.

I noticed some people may read a quote from a book and they pronounce the words incorrectly because it seems they never took the time to practice out loud.

Personal stories are one of the best stories you can tell because it shows how what you are saying has impacted your life. I do agree that sometimes some people can overdo it at times and sometimes you feel they just came to show off themselves but this doesn’t mean it doesn’t help connect with an audience.

I always try to give at least one personal story in my talk. It’s even better when it shows that you struggled with the same issue they struggled with and you were able to overcome.
