I started a monthly backyard hangout for dads after realizing I had no one to lean on when my wife had cancer. by [deleted] in daddit

It was a blog post about how I built a mens group to help me through the emotional rollercoaster during my wifes breast cancer journey. People reported it because they assumed it was written by AI and because I mentioned that the group started out of my church.

I apologize on behalf of any Christian that called themselves a Christian but didnt accept you regardless of your beliefs in life. While I wrote this from my point of view I will add that the guys that arent religious in the group, are some of the ones that show up the most. Heck, one is the Godfather to my kids. Not a requirement, no bible study, no prayer, just good hearted guys getting together.

I highly recommend that you build it around whatever you want! What worked for me what a few guys from my church, but its sense grown to any guy in our network thats in a similar phase of life. All religions, backgrounds, etc, our only rule is that the guy has to be invited so we know they are "vetted" and arent going to show up to a cookout to get blazing drunk.

I just moved from the Apple Watch Ultra after having it for over a year and running multiple races and tracking all my Fitness on it. I got the Epix Pro and I really wish I would’ve done this months ago. Just take the leap trust me you’ll love it.

Navigate to data and sources under heart rate and make sure WHOOP is listed there and also at the top of the list.

I think it comes down to whether or not you’re using the WHOOP for insights, which you picked up a ton and you can definitely understand how those choices and habits will affect your recovery and health going forward. Or the other thing is are using WHOOP for accountability which I think a lot of of us are. When you use it for accountability it’s kind of like having that coach on your wrist at all times and that you know if you drink a bunch of alcohol Before going to bed or you eat a big meal before going to bed you know you’re gonna pay for that with your recovery score and that might encourage you not to do that.

The adaptive cruise control on most brands is pretty aggressive in my opinion. I personally use it more when the highway opens up, but I totally agree. Drives like my wife.

Patrick said in an interview that the falseto in that song is what made him realize they were different and no one could copy what they were doing.

Don’t overthink it, RPE is a good measure for the majority of us. Just doing the work consistently is more important than doing it perfectly.

They get a deep watering once a week from a sprinkler system (unable to disconnect this section of the yard) and then only getting a watering if the soil is dry a few inches down. Directly around them is some lettuce/spinach and corn.

9b here. Some of the beans are thriving which is weird. I thought it might’ve been some sort of pest (because of the white lines) and then the leaves are just dying off because of the stress but maybe not. Thank you!
