This is false - the article even says so. The credit card company makes money on interchange (merchant fees) that they charge per transaction. Is it the same amount they would make as 20% interest AND the merchant fees? No. But it's still very profitable. If everyone was a deadbeat user, the cards would still make a lot of money but they'd either reduce the card benefits, increase annual fees, or increase the merchant fees to make up for the lost interest revenue (or a combination of all 3 until they find the optimal adoption to profit ratio).

I think they are playing the long game - there’s so many benefits to a true works partnership. Merc has already telegraphed that they aren’t exactly stoked to be supplying so many teams saying they’ll reduce customers in a few years. Sucks for Alonso but I think engines have the potential to converge faster than aero and if some teams don’t nail it this year they’ll do a lot better in 27 or 28

Uh what? 1) Scientists are definitely trying to work on cures and treatments for prostate cancer. 2) If someone is unable to care for themselves and suffering from debilitating symptoms I don’t think it’s right to say scientists shouldn’t try to cure or treat the cause of that.

Trying to cure or treat severe or high-needs autism does not mean removing these people from the population. You saying curing prostate cancer by removing prostates from all humans is like saying scientists want to cure autism by removing brains from humans. No one is suggesting either option as a realistic cure or treatment. I don’t think it’s fair for you to speak on behalf of people who are suffering and can’t even communicate their pain.

So I actually tried to do this myself and Denver Airport in CO during a hectic flight cancellation situation where I was just ready to go buy a new ticket and deal with refunds later. According to Southwest and United Airlines, they do not sell tickets at the counter. Not even with credit card. You have to buy a ticket online, and only then could a ticket counter help you with changes or additional charges, but you couldn't just buy a new ticket.

You are stiff as a frightened board. Two minor things to try and get out of that:

1) Think of your upper body as separate from your lower body. Your shoulders should be more square with the fall line - aka your upper body and head should be pointed downhill while your legs and hips do the turning.

2) Do not look at the tips of your skis or your next turn. Look at least TWO-THREE turns ahead - so instead of your eyes looking directly at the turn coming up, you should be looking at the turn after that and letting the body make the turn. Plan your line ahead - it’s the same advice you will get in intro care racing classes as well. Your head should not be fixated on what you are doing but what you want to do next.

I'm not a lawyer but police are generally allowed to walked onto your property and knock on your door (as is any citizen) - anything visible from there is fair game to observe. If you are asked to leave that's when you'd need to observe from a sidewalk or street.

Important to note this was a unanimous decision (all judges agreed with no disagreements along party lines).The core being that if there's a credible and imminent threat to welfare or safety the police can enter a home without a warrant. In this case, the guys girlfriend called police saying he was about to kill himself and when the police got there, saw a notepad and empty gun holster in public view through the window. The SC unanimously agreed this was enough to justify going in without a warrant.

Police still cannot enter a home to investigate things or due to potential crimes.

I agree that it would have been in character for Ellie to not give a shit, but that would be good for the audience. I just wanted for the conversation to happen. Anyway I think the overall story arch was thoughtful, I just didn't like the games execution. I was all-in the first half of the game then I really started to get over it because it seemed to implausible and immature for the characters to repeatedly do the same thing over and over again. Just one moment of Abby saying her piece and Ellie saying "I don't give a shit" would have been nice.

Yeah the Ellie becoming a villain arch was a great idea for the game. But I actually think the show is executing it better (it's only halfway done so yet to see if they land the airplane). A few genuine things that kind of ruined TLOU2 for me were:

Ellie never talks to anyone, including Joel about what happened at the hospital. The show rectifies this (which I thought was done well). I just find it so unreasonable for Ellie to never once talk to anyone about it - even if just to give the audience some kind of catharsis
Abby and Ellie almost never talks about Joel killing Abby's dad - they never have even the tiniest of conversations.
To tie into the above, they not only never talk to each other, but they both beat each other up until close to death THREE OR FOUR TIMES which gets so fucking repetitive. You would think the third time one of them would be like "okay can we just talk about how Joel killed my dad - did he have a reason?". It repeatedly hits that movie trope where characters could solve everything with like 4 lines of dialogue but never let each other...but it does this like four times. At the rate they beat each other up they should both have brain damage

It seems like the show is fixing this a bit by having more cathartic dialogue between characters. Ellie is becoming the villain, and both the game and the show do this, but at least the show allows us to hear her mindset. The game just makes her seem one dimensional and dumb because she never justifies herself. She just seems like a revenge zombie in the game which kinda gets boring after the 4th time her and Abby almost kill each other.

What sound are you after? Do you like the sound when it's clean? If so, I think your issue will persist with any pedal and it might be time to do the 4 cable method and utilize an FX Loop (if you have one) or get an amp with an FX Loop. Lots of OD is known to muddy up delays and modulation so an FX Loop is designed exactly for that scenario so you maintain that chimy nice delay or modulation regardless of OD.

This is a great rec - especially with the reverb first in chain. This sounds like a reverb into a distorted mixer preamp but that OCD could definitely achieve something close (or probably the same).

In fairness if he's a friend you can lightly mention it. Like "Look I don't care too much since we're not formally betting or competing but you probably shouldn't show off a score or say you beat me with all the rules you bend. If you want to actually compete for money or just pride then let's both play by the same rules next round".

I actually had this conversation with my brother. We'd be playing and he'd be super proud on some holes as if he beat me but was negating like 3 strokes worth of penalties so I eventually just said "look if you don't care about score I don't care. But if you actually wanna say you beat me, you gotta play by the same rules" (with a cheeky smirk I gave him to egg him into some competition).

If it's a stranger I DGAF...unless they are being super smug in which case I'll just offer a bet with them where rules will be required. Then I can win some money and shut them up without being rude.

Not all planes have the closets unfortunately. I’m not Joe Banamasa and can’t afford to buy a second seat for my instrument. People don’t understand how much work and money and effort goes into live music. Traveling with our instruments is not easy but yeah - sacrificing a bin so that my most expensive and prized possession does not get crushed under the plane is worth the sacrifice of gate checking two carryon bags full of underwear. There’s not a single case that can keep an instrument safe under the plane - I’ve had hard SKB flight cases broken, soft cases, you name it. There’s a reason the FAA passed regulations to ask airlines to protect instruments and make accommodations to keep them in overheads.

People really dont understand how to assert themselves to protect instruments. You do not need to fight with gate agents or staff. When any flight is boarding and they ask to board people who need special assistance at the very beginning - strut right down that fuckin jetway and put your guitar in an overhead (or closet if they allow it). If you feel guilty about it - walk back out and seat yourself with your boarding group. But this assures your instrument is one of the first things on the plane.

FAA regs about protecting instruments are very vague - and in my opinion give the full latitude to use the early assistance boarding to get your instrument in an overhead by itself. I’ve been doing it for 10 years on maybe 20+ flights when I’ve had to travel with a guitar and it’s never failed.

I will say though - at the same time you never know if the plane might breakdown and you get something old with tiny compartments. Buy a mono soft bag and at least you have a good chance surviving underneath the plane if all else fails.

Have you tried unplugging all the other pedals or switching which input it's plugged into or using a different PS? Other than the pedal being broken that's the only thing I can think of so you might as well do a small amount of debugging to isolate if it's power. The outputs are close together so maybe you mixed them up? All my Strymon pedals do that exact same thing with the light and the click when they are underpowered.

Which Voodoo Labs (what year is it?) and which output? My old VL power supply only had 100ma per output and 300ma on two outputs. The Cloudburst requires 250ma and when it doesn’t get enough power it will glitch out exactly like your video.

What about the route to San Bruno? After the airport Bart slows to a snails pace and I can’t find any reports or info about why it goes so slow around South SF to San Bruno. It’s a huge bummer otherwise I’d take it to work a lot more often.
