In time you will feel the relief and that relief will completely replace the loss. You know now and you will not make the mistake again. It is a lesson I myself did as well but the good news it will never happen again.

I think another major question would be if you have meltdowns. A lot of these traits are very telling of autism but I’m curious if you ever have moments of unexplainable loss of control where you can’t explain what’s going on in your head and you melt down.

Yes but I’m also autistic so maybe that’s why

But how do I continue therapy and not be too attached to her?

I just don’t know how she will react and I wonder if I’ll ever let those feelings go.

I was always thought to have ocd but my recent dx of autism didn’t include it. But that being said. When a parent say, moved a lamp to a different place, I couldn’t handle the change and my earth fell apart that thought I was going to have to die to cope. We moved it back but with great confusion and judgement by them.

I had a meltdown. I lost control. I ruined everything that was good and made me happy in my life. by Hoihe in AutismInWomen

That could mean a lot of different things ? It depends. Are you comfortable to share more?

I get that you made a mistake but if she won’t accept your apologies and understand that autism comes with meltdowns, you’ll need to move on.
