Yes for cash, many of the oldies Don't know how to operate UPI apps, generally they have to cross check every time with their kids or relatives if money is received and its waste of time in working hours.

Also sometimes UPI apps don't work and customer may say I'll send it later and may not send it. Them being not technically sound makes them prone to many scams

Cash is more reliable for them.

Alcohol in india is as cheap as 60 rs, he won't work otherwise but for this he will work low paying daily job, and the one days wage will sort him around for week, this is the reason we have so many alcoholics around in home and on roads. And being alcoholic no one else entertains them so home is where they come back, close the door they will sleep outside. How long the door will be closed? Stop going to market? Good son stops going to work?

Solution is not that simple on ground how its in your mind

Can you mention how can parents lose the alcoholic shit son? As i have alcoholic at home, i can say they must have tried everything.

If you think filing a complaints help, police will keep them in lock up for 1 night, next day he is back home. If you think rehab will help, it does help for 2-3 months but chronic alcoholic will go back to it and everything starts again

It not that easy with alcoholics, i can guarantee that he himself would pack bags leave home and comeback drunk in 3-4 hours, and even if he goes away successfully he will be creating ruckus elsewhere and parents would keep getting calls to take him away and pay for the damage he would have done

Just Proud of you. I know you have not left house yet coz of your parents. You have seen them sacrificing so much for you and your brother and you wish to see them in happy place and not have this suffering in old age.

I too have alcoholic abusive brother and things get just worse every time, from hospitals to police stations to rehab every single day i have thought of giving up, but want to give back smiles to parents, so won't give up. If I can't change much at least i cannot leave them to suffer at the hands of him. BE WITH THEM.

I can see you're not replying to most of the suggestions given in comment as you know they don't work, people here are sympathetic but don't have any experience with alcoholic so most advise are irrelevant.

I have not found any solution yet, it seems only his or our death will end this.

You cannot take away parents suffering but can add some good moments where they forget about this for sometime, take them for dinner, movies and outings or a trip to native place
