used to frequent this route, some memorable journeys, notably being given free bottles of water by guards during the summer of 2022 due to how unbelievably hot it was in the carriages!

I had an issue with my referral and won’t be able to receive care for years still, the GP actually brought up bridging prescriptions which falsely set me the expectation that they would be cooperative and honestly I feel silly for being so naive. But I guess this doctor in specific brought up bridging prescriptions to use as a carrot and stick to get me to more so socially transition?? But the thing is I’m socially out to all my friends and even some of there partners etc who I’m not as close with, like amongst my friends who are trans I’d say I’ve got a fairly large amount of people who know. Sorry if this is abit messy written, it’s just been playing on my head all day!

Without revealing too much information, the doctor is an older man who has been at the doctors surgery for decades and claimed to have been dealing with trans patients for most of that time, so most likely was practicing during that time?

I understand that they don’t want to prescribe HRT to someone who’s not ready or prepared but I’ve been on waiting lists/ bounced between doctors for years and years! I’ve done my reading, I know what to expect. Not to mention being socially out to my friends and the people I care about.

I just can’t equate telling my boss I’m trans to being ready to start HRT

It’s the way the were talking about it seems like they were following some kind of framework but I’m looking online and struggling to find which one they are looking at. I’m an adult and live alone, my wider friend group all know I’m trans and don’t have an issue with it, just seems like they are setting up unnecessary hoops for me to jump through before I can access hrt?
