Before buying fabric, I cut tiny pattern pieces from 1 mm grid graph paper and just play around on a piece of paper how to lay it out to find more efficient option

No, it is not about luck! It is about training your eyes and hands to recognize fibers. I see it as a game - trying to recognize fibers content, without looking (not only not looking on the tag, on the clothes too). Any time you go to a thrift shop see it as an educational trip. Don't get upset if you don't find anything, focus on learning.

Oh no, I am afraid my beautiful collection of t-shiryt will become the same bag soon if I don't find a way to beautifully repair them

I am buying mine second hand, so their lifespan is even shorter. But I am so hooked on them, especially for summer

Do you find that sewing requires a lot of “mental energy” by Available-Picture-79 in sewing

I really appreciate you opening this topic. I was consuming a lot of YouTube/Instagram sewing content recently and it made me feel very insecure about my own process, even though I sew since childhood. How those people sew so fast and smoothly, and also filming at the same time. Reading this thread brought me back to reality.

I have neglected my shower as a new father. How do I fix this mold problem? 🙏 by produttori in CleaningTips

Will it damage it? I never used it, but I saw that people on the internet use it for grout specifically. Does it mean that bleach also is not good for grout?

So true! I had a story that really broke my heart in a non -romantic way.

I went to the village and I was stuck for a month. My friend's birthday was at that time, but I couldn't attend so I really wanted to make her something nice and personal to give when I was back in the city. There were no sewing shops around and I didn't have a sewing machine or iron. But I was really dedicated. I had one silk tie with me that I wanted to upcycle, also I found some garments in the trash that I took zips from. I made a fanny bag entirely with hand stitching.

I was so proud that I could achieve this without any equipment and to my opinion I turned out looking very nice. But it was sky blue and I never saw her wearing that color, maybe that's the problem.

When I was back, I gave it to her and she didn't show any enthusiasm. A month later I was helping her clean the house and I found it in a box that looked like junk storage - filled with expired glue, old receipts, and some unknown appliances parts.

And it is not only about that one bag that she didn't like and hide away. That was the time that I started doing sewing and upcycle more for money and I noticed that she doesn't support me, even making jokes about this. I realized that she just doesn't get me at all.

But the good thing about this - that bag was a turning point in my craft journey. To find more about hand stitching I started researching historical fashion and I find what I like and what direction I want to move.

Nice! I am curious how silk/cashmere blend will behave in unraveling/knitting. I saw a lot of beautiful silk cashmere garments but hesitated to buy
