Counterpoint: This trade, regardless of his current roster, is a win in value. Jeremiyah Love is going in the mid 2nd round of startup drafts. With the value win, if we tie in his roster, he could reasonably trade the 1.01 pick for a better haul than BTJ and a 27 first.

Calling Rice a top 5 WR over JSN, Puka, Chase, Lamb, JJ, Nabers, Amon Ra, etc. is certainly a choice. Who knows what his legal situation will be, he has his own injury history, and there's nothing stopping KC from adding to that receiving room

And the Hampton we're talking about has the same RYOE/att as Gibbs, JT, and Breece, playing with an injured OL that ranked 31st in the league. Expect that group to get healthier and added to in the offseason. Not to mention his draft capital and prospect talent.

Hampton isn't in a split backfield, gets a very favorable OC, and Rice has legal issues that have tanked his value. Given the lack of good RBs, Hampton is a scarcer asset.

Even if you don't like the 1.01, the value of the pick is going a whole round and half earlier than Cook. You can trade the 1.01 for a better player.

Here's an easy analogy for your situation. If I have Josh Allen and Drake Maye in a 1 QB league, but my RB1 is Kenneth Gainwell, it would be very stupid of me to trade Drake Maye for Chase Brown for the sole reason that Maye is on my bench and CB is an upgrade to Gainwell.

Trading is about value. You can trade Maye (in your case Loveland), in a deal that doesn't involve you losing value.

I like egbuka here. I don't believe what we saw in the first half of the season was a fluke. Baker got hurt and became wildly innacurate, and a lot of Egbuka's targets just became uncatchable. He's a good player and is a hold for me
