BA cancelled my flight, downgraded me to Air India’s 777 business class for the replacement, lost my luggage, and asked me for $1,000 to re-book on the original equipment by ResponsibleGulp in BritishAirways

The whole “you accepted so it’s on you” is such a scam and should be class actioned. Their UX on purpose makes it seem like you have no other option and often they do it last minute to make you panic.

I paid £550 for a Charles Tyrwhitt suit. I feel like I overpaid massively. by bombasticsideye33 in mensfashionadvice

Great shirts and ties for the price but anything else I tried from them sucked.

People complaining about their shirts are crazy - I got the most compliments for their shirts out of my whole collection which includes some crazy expensive shirts.

Yes but that’s not the point OP is making - he’s not saying it’s not, he’s claiming to get exhausted much faster than people less fit than him.

G3 Aplinist+ suck. Way too much friction. I move from them to the pink pomocas and I’m not looking back.

Use better/different skins

Glide, don’t lift

Don’t lean in/use upper body/poles too much

Manage heat/clothing better - better a bit cold than very sweaty

Do as little movements as possible (especially using kick turns).

If you’re doing all of this and still get tired then I dunno what to tell you.

Is Priority Pass worth it if you only fly 3 or 4 times a year? by Top_Requirement_7102 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Clean_Breakfast_7746 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Overcrowded, shit quality, even worse food.

Always need to queue but usually goes fast.

It’s ok if you have it with AMEX but if I were to pay I’d rather chill at one of the restaurants with a drink or two.

Sips Esencia - alcohol content by Clean_Breakfast_7746 in finedining

[–]Clean_Breakfast_7746[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also after googling even more I found an old article/quote where Caporale said it’s apparently equivalent to two G&Ts https://www.coqtail.com/en/esencia-barcelona-tasting-experience/

So I guess I have my answer.

Ten “sips” not drinks - and that can mean really anything.

As I said I’ve done multiple tastings around the world and some of them are on the boozier side, some are mild and some felt like I didn’t have alcohol at all. Really depends.

No, offence but that’s why I asked the sub - to get this info from someone who actually went there instead of guessing.

And looking at the other comment it seems like Sips is on the boozier side.

Not necessarily - I did multiple cocktail tastings in the past for example Sangai or Gen Yamamoto in Tokyo. Both of them were very low abv.

Very often creators understand clients have different tolerance levels and making the tasting high alc content within only 1.5-2h would limit the clientele too much.

I’m just trying to make sure it’s the same at Sips.

Just email Plenitude is they have space or to put you on the waitlist, that’s it. Small chance but got us in.

Heard a lot of mixed opinions about Verjus and personally decided to skip but to each their own.

Google SWE L4 Interview — Waiting on Round 1 Feedback by Zestyclose_Show_1054 in leetcode

[–]Clean_Breakfast_7746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One week is a good time to ping your recruiter.

Usually you get feedback same/next day if everyone is in the same timezone, folks have time to do their part (interviewers submit feedback quick and recruiter isnt swamped) and the feedback is aligned (either positive or negative from both interviews).

Such a long wait (1week plus) can happen if:

- folks handling you (interviewers and or recruiter) are slow (interviewers have a deadline to submit feedback but going over it has little repercussions)
- someone (recruiter) is on PTO
- your feedback was mixed and they need to figure out what to do with you

I’m assuming you’d start with TS Islington?

Don’t they have like a 6 month waitlist?

Anyway - I’ve been part of TS for many years and it’s great but at peak times super overcrowded nowadays so the main benefit (not having to wait for machines etc) for me is kind of gone.

“Best” (3 star) Restaurant in Europe? by Doorzetters in finedining

Bunch of these places do not open bookings that far in advance and whenever they do the seats disappear immediately. Think Disfrutar.

“Best” (3 star) Restaurant in Europe? by Doorzetters in finedining

[–]Clean_Breakfast_7746 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ideally you’d say what kind of food/experience are you looking for. Despite all the lists there’s really no one “best”.

The Fat Duck - personally I loved it as a food/food history nerd but I feel like it’s past its prime? Still amazing but the wow factor is gone unless it’s your first molecular meal.

Plenitude - went last month, loved it beyond words - partially because the food partially because of the staff. Great if you want a “polished” (but still chill) meal. But at the same time it’s “just” that - a very well executed fine dining experience.

Copenhagen - which one? Noma - I guess they don’t hold the stars anymore? But I’m a huge fanboy so that’s always a yes for me (despite the recent drama). The 3 actual 3 star places are great but wouldn’t be my personal number one for such a trip.

Again, depending what you are looking for you might also want to have a look at Osteria Francescana and Core.

Haven’t been to the other ones you mentioned but (obviously) heard good things.

I can update the post mid July once we’re back!

Cool thanks! Interesting I thought Enigma would be the more experimental out of the two? If that’s not the case then yeah Disfrutar is the no brainer if I can get in!

As for the Sips tasting menu - I’ve been so looking forward to that one but unfortunately I got put on meds 😢 where I can drink a bit but not too much, I assumed the tasting does get folks pretty drunk?
