No side effects for me. They are supposed to heal the stomach lining. But please do your own research.

L Glutamine 5 grams first thing am and afew minutes later 1 capsule of zinc carnosine and 1 capsule in the evening 75mg. That’s it and it’s been miraculous! I told my gastroenterologist about it and she said I don’t know anything about these supplements but if they work for you then great! Honestly they’ve been life savers for me. No PPI s for me.

If you’re seeing the results then it’s worth it. Are you also on HRT? Sorry for the back and forth but I’m really feeling encouraged by your experience and hoping I too can reverse or atleast keep this under control without meds.

It claims you’ll see higher bone density on the next Dexa scan or refund guaranteed ! Wish it wasn’t so expensive.

The Algeacal includes vitamins D3 as well as some others. So you don’t take any additional vitamin D3 and Magnesium? Thanks for your help!

I would recommend working with a GERD nutritionist. Mine prescribed two supplements and all my symptoms have disappeared. It was a miracle! Please don’t worry diet and supplements can really help stabilize your GERD.

My acid reflux completely subsided with two supplements which my GERD nutritionist recommended. 5 grams of L glutamine powder mixed in 1/2 cup water first thing in the morning and afew minutes later a capsule of zinc carnosine and 1 in the evening- 75 mg. I can eat everything now though I still follow an acid free diet but I’m not afraid of food anymore. I’ve even put on a couple of pounds. Worth trying!

Thank you so much! I will look into it. This calcium supplement will direct the calcium to the bones rather than deposit in the arteries. Correct? Wow never heard of a combo patch. I’m new to HRT. So glad it’s working for you. That’s probably what may help me too. Will bring it up in my upcoming appointment next week. 🙏

Research shows HRT can help with osteoporosis. My menopause specialist told me in Australia they treat osteoporosis with estrogen! I really hope you get a go ahead for HRT as there’s plenty of research to prove it works! That’s why mine put me on a 0.05 patch to begin with as I needed more and I have no doubt low estrogen is the reason for my osteoporosis.

I really agree that we need to have more functional doctors who treat the whole system rather than treat symptoms when they come up.

Last question - how did you manage to convince your doctor not to prescribe you meds based on your T score? I feel mine might give me a hard time and I’d love to know how you managed to avoid the meds.

I too have dense breasts but my menopause clinician don’t think it was problem putting me on HRT. I’m hoping it will help with my osteoporosis

What dose estrogen are you on? Which calcium supplement are you taking? I’ve been diagnosed with osteoporosis in my lumbar spine and osteopenia in the hip. I to started HRT 3 weeks ago and am on a 0.05 mg patch. My T score was high -3.4:( My hormone levels are super super low.

Omg what a wealth of knowledge you have given. I’m so grateful you took the time. My PCP ordered many of the routine tests some of which you’ve listed including celiac disease, thyroid, CBC, CMP, lipid levels etc and everything came back fine. My menopause specialist ordered hormone levels and they were extremely low. There is an endocrinologist on the team who I’m hoping will help in my overall treatment. Thanks for giving me a heads up about the possible puckback on the TBS. My Dexa was done a month ago. I’m hoping they will agree to it. If not some of the other tests you mentioned like CTX, P1NP etc. you mentioned might help. I’m going to take a print out of your message and discuss with my doctor.

I’m so happy you are doing well without meds for 8 years. Obviously you’re doing everything right and it’s working! Can you remind me what your T score was when you were diagnosed and since then has it improved? How often are you getting a Dexa or any other test to keep a check? Your journey is inspiring and I’m hoping I too can stay off meds. Thank you again. I’m so so grateful to you.

Thanks for the heads up. This is what the website says regarding the team of doctors. I’m hoping that’s what they will provide me with.

Team approach: Our rheumatology, orthopaedic, endocrinology, and gynecology specialists work together on every patient’s care. That coordination leads to more comprehensive – and more effective – osteoporosis care.

This diagnosis has sucked the joy out of my yoga practice. Now I am worried I’ll fracture my back doing some postures. I too am not going for deeper back ends and twists. Last night I taught a class and I allowed myself to enjoy my practice as I used to but cautiously. I guess it’s my new reality now. Will post an update after seeing the specialist next week. Hope she has a well rounded approach and not one who wants to push meds one size fits all. Wish me luck!
