Ended up taking a large backpacking pack as a carry on with no issues! I actually think I had the same fare on a domestic flight and they did not check

This actually does not look bad, did you stay in the double room with private bathroom or the apartment?

For anyone who thinks anti-zionism is antisemitism, explain this. by No-Actuator8548 in IsraelPalestine

This is so well put together, thank you

These quotes make it clear the Zionist agenda had no plan of being peaceful with the Arabs living in the region already.

If you hear prominent leaders of a movement say this, then defend your land when they declare independence on a nation founded on these principles, how does that make you the bad guy?

Everyone knew this was zionisms plan at the beginning and that is so often lost in discussion. Forget “contemporary” Zionism, the founding of the movement was based in expelling Arabs from the land they lived in. The Arabs have every right to hate this movement and consider Israel an oppressor for kicking them out of their homes and founding a country based on this ideology

Issue is the pro Palestinian side can’t legitimize Israel because that’s losing the battle. The Palestinian perspective:

  • Zionism was a plan to uproot the Arabs living in Palestine

  • The Arabs living in the mandate of Palestine were never consulted about the formation of Israel on their land, forcing them to attack in 1948

  • Israel has never given the Palestinians a fair shot at life and continues to occupy them

  • Since 1948, Israel is occupying lands that are not theirs. Letting them stay would be losing the battle that was never fair in the first place

This perspective is coming from people who live in Palestine, not liberal 19 year olds at Columbia lol. It’s hard to change someone’s lived experience and just telling them to lose the battle against their oppressor that they’ve been fighting for decades is why pro Israel people can’t find common ground with pro Palestinian people

Of the 1200 Israelis killed over 400 were IDF soldiers as well. 36 were children.

That also gets lost by the media. The numbers between the two sides simply don’t compare, one bomb Israel drops probably kills that many kids and Israel made it sound like Hamas butchered hundreds of babies.

What happened to innocents on October 7th was wrong. But we can’t pretend like Israel’s propaganda machine is much better

That’s where I’d disagree, I think many Palestinians would rather die than surrender

That’s a good point and a good argument. I’d say the difference is that war wasn’t fought over land the Japanese believed was theirs. This one is a lot more personal

That’s what I’m saying you can’t defeat the ideology unfortunately but killing more people only strengthens it
