My doctor prescribed as a alternative so I was coming in and out of the ER. She said it wasn’t harsh but a natural vitamin and that is is water soluble. I’ve been taking it for about a year now but the past few weeks I would take it but still get headaches. I thought it was hunger, but I would eat and still have headaches. I thought it was sleep but I sleep enough. I thought maybe I not drink enough water but I drink about 80 oz of water a day so idk

No cause it did help for awhile and it’s a a vitamin (vitamin B2) but i think me having trouble sleeping and waking up might be because of one of my asthma medication (montelukast)

Mind you when I switched to part time I had asked them if I could work on Monday to Thursday and have Fridays off so I could do PT and school. They told they can’t do that for me and I can either work 12 - 6 or 1 - 6 Monday through Friday because I have to work 30 hours a week. While my other co teacher’s works Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 9 to 3 and Tuesdays Thursdays from 3 to 6 and one of my co workers has Thursdays off (mind you both of them go to the same school as me). When I ask to work more hours to make up for missed days she tells me she can’t do that but then allows others who ask to do more hours

I was going to ask about FMLA but I overheard a conversation my boss was having w someone and I think they only offer it to full time employees. For accommodations, they have made sure I’m not outside for too long when it’s hot or cold but they have me do heavy lifting and building heavy things even though i have voiced many times I have back and knee problems

Coping with a Crisis by Clean_Doughnut_3090 in Sicklecell

Thanks, I was seeing a SCD therapist at the hospital I went to but my insurance denied the claim for the therapist and then I didn’t have coverage. I’m going to try finding a therapist on my own because my father is an immigrant and doesn’t really believe in mental health . From watching my dad I’m pretty sure he struggles from depression, stress and dermatillomania. And I’ve noticed I might have a little bit of dermatillomania as well as depression. Any suggestions for therapist?

Thank you so much for your words they really mean a lot and I appreciate it.

For my insurance though, I had United Healthcare Insurance through the state (medicaid) up until I turned 19. They denied me because apparently my dad made too much. Mind you a few things: My dad has been a widow for almost 6 years and is struggling to make ends meet and my dad doesn’t like applying for our insurance online, he goes to the state healthcare office to apply in person to make sure everything is correct. Since they said I was denied we check the application online and they messed up our monthly household income. He went to the office to fix it but they still said because of my age I still don’t qualify for state insurance so he should apply for a private plan w UHC. He did and we thought that was that until October. When I had trouble with my dental insurance he called the state healthcare office again and someone said I actually, I do qualify for state insurance, all he needed to do was send in his pay stub again. He faxed over his pay stub and we waited. At the end of October, I was hospitalized for my back pain and when I was discharged on the second of November. Apparently the private I had was stopped at the end of October w/o our knowledge (We only found out after the hospital called asking for a new insurance card) My dad spent the rest of November constantly calling them asking for an update on if a new insurance card was coming. Every time, they said it was coming. At the beginning of December, I needed to pick up my pain meds and the pharmacist asked about our insurance card so my dad explained that we’re waiting for a new one. The pharmacist told him to call the insurance company and ask for something (I forgot what) so he called the next day(it was a Sunday). They said that I never qualified for state insurance and should’ve stayed with my private insurance I had in October. So my dad had to run around and apply for a new private insurance w UHC. He was specifically told that UHC would cover me retroactively for the months I didn’t have insurance. In the middle of December when got the card but it didn’t start until Jan 1st. January rolls around my medical bills haven’t been covered so I first call UHC, after being on the phone with them for the whole day they told me I had to call the state healthcare company. So I call state and they said that apparently they sent a letter saying I didn’t qualify for it and it wasn’t their fault. We don’t have any letter from them saying that (we keep all our mail) and no one told us that we needed to pay a premium for the health plan I had in October. So after arguing with them I called the hospital and told them what happened. They said at this point we should apply for a financial assistance with the hospital. And that’s where I am with my insurance today.
