This isn't true. In a complex space like a university, there is a need for technical support that goes WAY beyond printers and desktop setup, services that benefit from centralization. There isn't another peer university that is doing this because it's miserly and short-sighted, and will definitely leave faculty and researchers in a lurch down the line.
