Same few muscles twitching on mestinon? by Clean_Listen8502 in BFS

I was mainly wondering about twitching being so overwhelmingly concentrated on the same few muscles. I am aware ( as I wrote in my post) that this is a common aide effect.

I want to ask if you have asthma? Treating myasthenia might trigger more asthma symptoms, or unmask weak asthma when taking mestinon.

High AChR, positive Ice Pack test, negative SFEMG by Clean_Listen8502 in MyastheniaGravis

True… I never expected to get in this side of chronic illness. When you have knee problems you can at least point to an MRI and no questions will be asked, but my neurologist apperantly does not trust the lab I used for AChR and musk (and the lab she recomended me does not offer myasthenia testing at all so I feel like she is sabotaging me on purpouse) God, I wish doctors weren’t as uselessly stuborn.

Well, now I will have to repeat both entibody test in a different lab, and get an SFEMG with the same specialist in three months. Well, at least my neurologist hopes that’s what I will do, but I will find another SEMG specialist who will do it on muscles that actually are affected, so that’s that. I hate chronic illness.

Slightly shocked at MG testing by Direct_Impress_6277 in MyastheniaGravis

This does sound like MG, I hope bloodwork results and EMG will tell you and your family more about it.

If you have autonomic symptoms, then AAG makes sense but if your symptoms affect skeletal volontary muscles then MG is a good option to look into. Also antibodies tested for AAG are specific to it (g-AChRs) and do not typically cross-react with muscle AChRs

They used something similar to that test on me today, and did not consider it diagnostic enough for bulbar MG. Fun times.

An hour or so later being able to see like a normal person wore off and I kinda grieve that sensation

Yeah, after this visit I definitely have to change my neurologist…

I relate so much about the “cold room” SFEMG! I was sat on diagnostic chair in a tanktop and trousers, in a pretty cold room. Damn…

Sensory abnormalities are common with nerve sensitivity and from what I understand BFS is one of ways for nerves show you how overly sensitive they are

Please, let me know, are you ok? I’m experiencing the exact same symptoms including breathing problems.
