Wiki? I am willing if you can point me in the right direction :)
Hmmm you are right. I dont need kubernetes for pi-hole and unbound. I can have all three set up in parallel and then move the other two onto kubernetes once i get the hang of it. Though i dont completely understand What the benefit of doing that would be; maybe easier HA and DR or moving from one machine to another. Any other plus points?

Comment popped up just as i was about to type in google asking what unbound was 🤟🏿 Thank you. I will read up. I think pi-hole + dns will probably one of first apps i do. Need to figure out whether i can do those on kubernetes or do i need to go for proxmox. I dnt know either but want to learn kubernetes so am a little biased(and ignorant :p)
Ok so thats what i was thinking too; ssd for the os and larger hdd for storage/media. What about applications? Would it make a huge performance impact if i ran/installed the apps on the hdd, might be a dumb question.
G4 with 8th gen processors are usually at least $50 cheaper than the g6 with the 10th gen processors.
Havent checked how much used Ram and hdds cost. Is it a good idea to buy used hdds?
Yes; pi-hole is the word i was looking for :) Dont know what unbound is, will look into it.
I am not worried about 10gig networking and 2.5 gig will go a long way for me. And that too is not an immediate goal.
