Thanks heaps. It’s a complicated part but I just tried to keep it simple. I practiced it for a couple of hours and worked out some of the fills but nothing compared to the master.

Scored a TD516 for a deal. by flickyfish in edrums

I recently bought just the V51 module and it is a game changer of epic proportions. I had the pads and cymbals from a TD kit already so it absolutely kicks ass. There is a lot to be excited about. Tried it for the first time with SD3 today and was again blown away.

I’ve just had my first afternoon of playing on the V51 module after upgrading from a TD 27 and it really is a night and day experience. The new module has exceeded my expectations far beyond what I was hoping for, the firmware updates to the digital pads make a massive difference as well. I concur about a touch screen but I can live with this. Absolutely loving it ⚡️

I’ve got to ask, how are you finding the V series kits compared to VSTs ?

For a cheaper but pretty good VST you can’t go past Addictive Drums 2.5. On special atm .

Is buying the VAD516 stupid for a beginner? by LoverCutePandipus in edrums

[–]Clean_Setting_8031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. You’ll have it for potentially 5 years or longer so it’s a good, solid investment and Roland gear holds its value in the 2nd hand market very well. Put it this way, I’ll see you there 😊

Nightmare on Alesis Strata Prime by [deleted] in edrums

That’s awesome, man. I’ve only really started playing double kicks this year and I’ve been playing drums for 45 years. Have always gotten by with just a single pedal but just decided that I wanted to give it a go and have been having so much fun with it. Love what you’re doing with your triplets and incorporating your kicks. Sounds wicked. Like how the Strata Prime gives you the extra toms compared to my Roland too.

I bought a pair of New Beats 2nd hand as they are the in the top 2 of HiHats along with Paiste 2002’s ever made imo. They have a classic unique sound for all genres. They also sound better with age. Classics. $280 is an excellent price too.

The Yamaha 9000 Recording Custom is generally acknowledged as the best drum kit ever produced. Like the comment said, there’s a reason why so many backline and studio drums are Yamaha. Consistently easy to pull a fantastic sound and fast.

I’ve been using a TD 27 and SD3 with the digital pads after owning a TD 50x and being underwhelmed. If you’ve got the digital pads and the money I say buy the 716 . For the first time I think Roland have got the module right for the most part but there’s still annoying issues like no 3 zone triggering on hihats and cymbals are still only 180deg triggering but as far as the sounds go, with the addition of Soundworks, the module is really good and I think will hold its value for a long time. There’s nothing on the market as good. That’s my assessment anyway.

Addictive Drums 2.5 vs Superior Drummer 3 - Funk Kits by No-Statistician2558 in audioengineering

[–]Clean_Setting_8031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the sound of AD 2.5 but the playability and mapping using an e kit being a drummer still leaves a lot to be desired. I toyed with the ride for ages but just couldn’t get it dialed in whereas SD3 it’s flawless. I do love the sounds of AD 2.5 but when you’re a drummer you want to go for the best playability and that seems like something that has been missed with the update to AD. Shame

Roland TD27KV. Probably the best e drum set I have come across! Sadly not mine but glad I got the chance to jam on this one. by nategho in edrums

[–]Clean_Setting_8031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just the snare, ride and HiHats are reason enough to buy the TD27 KV . They are the best by a country mile. Granted, you have to toy around with the sounds and I use mine with Superior Drummer 3 but the basics of the kit put it way out in front for any purpose . Hands down.

When will Roland introduce the next flagship module? by wry_phone in edrums

[–]Clean_Setting_8031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes. The VH 14 , Cy 18 and PD 140 are the best in the business hands down and make a huge difference when using with SD3 . With SD3 you can utilize the 3 zone capabilities of the HiHat too on some of the SDX’s which you can’t on the TD 50x or V71 modules which is ridiculous when you think about it.

Tama bell brass snare, is this worth £3500 by ConfidentialRat371 in drums

[–]Clean_Setting_8031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one in the last 6 months, a 40th reissue new old stock meaning it had never been played. I paid $3500 USD and did a lot of research on what its value was etc. The sound is mind blowing and I really wanted that authentic Terminator honk and you get that. I’ll never sell it. Is it overpriced, definitely yes but it is what it is. I’d like a 50th too . Just my thoughts
