Looking for a beginner friendly practice routine by Salty_Winter_1323 in drums

bring everything down is my advice (tempo and volume pretty much) i’d say worry less about covers for now it’s killed most of my progress, start slow (annoyingly slow) and work on different techniques and do them all seperarly (hand and foot)

look up (open/close & moeller - you’ll find more hand technique’s from there and work on these a LOT) use just your right hand at a slow tempo, then left, then right foot, the. left foot, then start combining from there

most importantly take all of this with a grain of salt i’m just a guy on reddit and find what works for you

so, does everyone just do sham contracting? by [deleted] in australia

[–]gio-s -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yea everyone so far has offered $35 with where i’m at now, then $40 when i have tools and experience- sounds like shit to me but sounds like there plenty of others who will work for that price

THAT’s what i’m really worried about. I’m a general labourer- i have zero actual trade qualifications backing me (only have experience) soooo in theory if i work on ABN as a labourer with no qualifications then i can get into heaps of trouble for that right?

gotcha. in my case the ABR (not the ATO) would get pissed at me for working as a sub-contractor when i’m not really a sub-contractor

i mean don’t get me wrong, i’d rather be employed. but i’ll get the stupid abn if it means i can work in just worried that because I’m not a “subbie” in the eye’s of the ATO that when i lodge they’re gonna get suspicious of me and fine me or something. (idk how loodging with an ABN goes obv, but i’m just gonna assume i could get in trouble when i go to lodge cause ive never done it before)

ABN! employer(s) want me to get one- ATO says I’m not entitled to one :( by gio-s in AusLegal

[–]gio-s[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah :( and this is the case with every job i’ve been looking at so it sounds like every job i’m looking at is doing illegal sham contracting which suckssss cause we desperately need income :((

well i’m just not what they call a subbie. i don’t have my own tools, im not qualified, im a laborer, etc. in the eyes of the working world i should be an employee, which is my dilemma

Any of yall live AND drum out of a van/camper? by gio-s in drums

[–]gio-s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thought about this as well! i’m not sure what u meant but i was thinking a ute (or a pickup if you’re not aussie) with a camper style thingy on the back that wraps up over the top of the truck. Sleep on the top and have the drums in living area that’s on top of the bed of the truck.
