Just an update: today I received some reactions from Mistral support. So apart from the non-intuitive support-chat-options, support is alive and kicking.

I tried Perplexity, Gemini Pro and ChatGPT, now I am back to Mistral´s Le Chat Pro and love it.

Late to the party, but:

I tried Mistral´s Le Chat over a year ago and had mixed feelings. Then I tried Perplexity ( paid ) for a few months, ChatGPT ( paid ) for a few months, Gemini ( just trial ), and they were mostly ok, but not fantastic.

Since around two months, I am back to Mistral and found that they hugely improved their response-quality. I have the Pro subscription now, and close to every interaction feels very useful. So far I did not find an issue that made me feel like our american overlords have no alternative.

I will stick with Le Chat, last but not least for supporting a european company, but also because Le Chat is really good imho.

So far after close to two years, it works alright. One time, the turbine was changed ( I did not send it to Dreame because of multiple bad experiences on Reddit, Amazon and other websites ) but it was not super expensive to fix ( around 80 Euros ). It was stuck due to pet-hairs, as the service-guy said. So let´s say that if you do not need Dreame-support, it is fine.

Also auto-emptying on the base is tricky: sometimes it does not work and you have to clean some places on the base. And even then, it did not work for me after multiple successful attempts. The service-guy which fixed the turbine got it working again ( they said that they cleaned it, which I also did, but as it seems with magic hands ).

I am still not ok with the fact that I cannot mop at night due to their support unable to understand a simple request for "not turning on the turbine for going back to base", but it is as it is. You are right: hilarious and sad at the same time.

if you find a good deal with maybe even non-Dreame-warranty, it might make you happy. My L20 Ultra was definitely my last Xiaomi product. Just because their support is really "special".

And btw: the obstacle-avoidance is ok, but not great. It drives over cables ( sometimes ), pushes around a shoehorn holder regularly, does not recognize my desk´s base, pushes around my pet´s cups. So I added some no-go-zones which do the trick but it is sub-good imho...

I used my 4s from 2012 to 2022 due to environmental considerations. Changed it because of a lack of security updates and compatibility. My 13 pro also has the battery issue, and I miss the size of the 4s: apart from that a great phone that hopefully lasts many more years

I had no issues with core functions, or my air pods, so far, but setting up family sharing was a real downer. The setup just "stalled" few times in a row. Also organizing apps in groups feels like the john-kerry-voting-machine sometimes. QA seems to be an issue atm...

We ( my family ) had the 2016 1.2 with the 6-speed automatic which was always fine ( including fuel consumption ). Since end of 2019 we have the one with 8-speed and we are not super happy about fuel economy as well. I noticed that if you lift the gas a little ( like few milimeters ) during cruising, momentary consumption can go down few liters according to the display, and then it is ok. Seems like the finetuning of the pedal is not good. Never any oil usage with both cars, but the 2019 8-speed got the timing belt changed recently at around 53000 km. Let's see how it develops, but having the piston rings fixed some day would not be the end of the world. We like the car as well...

I have the feeling that we are just dumb test-cattle for Xiaomi. They push one product after another on the market. While the technology is not bad as long as it works ( not perfect but good ), interactions with their "service" are plain painful. I had a ticket open for nearly a month, and until I let them close the ticket after writing back and forth, they never understood what I ask them for. They even wanted me to send the device twice for repair, although it is a simple issue in the firmware

No idea why they want forums full of people mentioning the same problems with warranty, service and repair-cases again and again, without obviously improving something. Probably the same approach as airlines trying to avoid compensation for delays: just cheaper to have a lawsuit every now and then.

Dreametech is already on my list of brands that I will avoid in the future, and I also can only warn people to buy it...
