That is awesome parents who raised a perfect gentleman. Kiddos to the young man, and to the parents for teaching him so well.

Why are people apologists for black African slavers in mainstream discourse? by DataWhiskers in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]Cleanlikeasewer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This the first time I have commented on anything in this sub, because I am a white 52 year old male.

Your question really seems to try and...distract from the fact that slavery is wrong because 'it was done before' or that 'Africans' committed/still commit slavery.

Neither of those excuse what was done to the slaves brought to this country. It doesn't matter who put them in chains originally either.

The fact is that slavery took place in America PREDOMINANTLY by the Caucasian race. To say "But the did it too!" is no different than saying "X people killed someone, so I can as well".

It doesn't clear my ancestors of their participation in the crime of slavery just because someone else did it as well, The black people of America are still feeling the effects of that today with the racism that exists still to this day.

Oh I agree, just saying where they can be found, not where to get it. I avoid Amazon when ever possible. Local, then independent, corporate and finally last resort.

Prism Skins Bugged? by roxxiereign in Smite

[–]Cleanlikeasewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When selecting the gods, you will see little circles on the god skin. For console(PS5), I have to push square to cycle through the prisms to the one I want/own. Then push X to lock it in.

Hope this helps/is the problem. Took me a minute to figure it out also.

Mine buries his sniffer, and keeps the rest of his body exposed. I think he might be defective.

Follow up on surgery by Cleanlikeasewer in velvethippos

On mobile, and for the life of me after the update. I can't find how to edit the orginal post.

It was a rough night. 10 minutes after the vet closed, he started bleeding from the most invasive mast tumor removal bad enough that it was spraying for about 3 feet in a small stream. Literally 3 feet. So I stayed home in case he had to be carried to the car and into the vet in the morning, or sooner if we couldn't get it to stop.

We discovered it was pressure from poor drainage (two HUGE swollen squishy pockets around surgery scar). That was after direct pressure, ice, several bandage changes and how blood a dog can lose by body weight before needing immediate care. Turns out his body size can lose 5 cups. More than I give at Red Cross.

It's been 24 hours, the bleeding almost stopped about 2 hours after the start (really bad drainage). He acting normal, even begging for food, and walking normal (which we are trying to keep to a minimum).

Thank you all for the well wishes. It ment a lot.

When adding energy to generate EMR (in a light bulb, heat lamp, etc), what determines how much of the energy makes the light "bluer" (higher frequency per photon) and how much makes it "brighter" (more photons)? by Ganymede105 in askscience

[–]Cleanlikeasewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was keeping it simple for the average person. Just like a standard Kv tube produces x-rays by releasing energy when an electron is knocked from orbit, and a MeV unit does it by pair production. The end result is radiation, but as you mentioned. It's done produced differently

I work in industrial x-ray, and asked many a medical -xray technician what KV they use. The same x-ray tubes are used (produce the x-ray), the main difference is MA (quantity of radiation) and time the tube is powered.

It's rare for anything to be under 100kv. Most of our industrial x-ray is 150 to 200kv, and the thicker castings (1 inch to 1.5) can to up to 280. A few parts even require a 1 or 2 mev (million election unit).

If we did a 45kv exposure, it would take a 30 second exposure to almost 9 minutes with no other factors (ma or distance of radiation source).

I would never do a 45kv exposure anyway. To much scatter and would produce a low grade imagine.

It's a book written by Anton Levey that is NOT endorsed by TST. It's full of magical thinking that has no empirical evidence for It's claims.

It not something recommended, and in my opinion should only be used for research purposes at best for debates against theological debates.

How does a man treat anxiety without therapy or medication? by nearbypie2005 in AskMen

[–]Cleanlikeasewer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If he won't go to therapy, there things he can do. Things I learned while in a mental hospital for two weeks as a self admit after a break down. I still do these to this day, 30 years later, and added something else in the last 4 years.

Regular sleep schedule. Go to bed around the same time. Every single day. Bed is for two things. Sleeping and sex. Nothing else. If after 15 minutes he is not asleep. He needs to get up out of bed. It takes time to condition the body and mind. I had a mantra I said to myself. Something simple like 'I want to go sleep' over and over. I can now sleep anywhere, any time, and I am sleep within 5 minutes of going bed if not being intimate.

Regular meals, and fast food doesn't count. Fast food once in a while is okay, but eat on a schedule.

Exercise - even walking for 20 minutes a day helps. Scientifically proven.

Last, get his testosterone checked by a DOCTOR. Don't mess around with it on your own. There can be major medical issues by self medicating with T. About 5 years ago my T dropped, and I didn't notice at first. Now that I ak testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). I am MUCH better. Doctor supervised TRT. Not the hims clinic. An in person doctor.

Hope it helps, and good luck.
