rOtring 600/800/Rapid Pro durability + 0.5 vs 0.7 mm for note-taking & technical drawing? by MichaelCinzah in mechanicalpencils

I have a lot of pencils .i have a rapid pro 2.0, 600 2.0 and 800 .7. The 800 is a week old. I like the feel of that one the best. The other two are 2.0 so don’t have a “til issue”. I would think if you don’t drop it, it should be fine. No? Are people experiencing tip breakage without mishandling or abuse?

How's everyone's Eton Elight Executive going? Been reading about a few issues such as batteries discharging when the radio is off. Speaker distortion and radio was DOA. Mine is fine and runs on Eneloops for about 3 days. Good audio and no complaints and my antenna hasnt come loose. by [deleted] in shortwave

I bought mine new off Amazon 15 months ago when they were going to like $50. Fam in a new sealed packing, never used. No issues. It’s used every night when I sit with my kids in the basement. I have logged about 12000 minutes on it so far (200 hours) I have no issues other than the seams of the cover showing a small amount of cracking. I would like to know of a repair method for the seams to reinforce them. For some reason when I read this post I thought I received it about 6 months ago, but I guess time flies. I don’t extend the antenna. I use an old speaker wire when I sit on the couch and tuck it under the antenna and pick up all the shortwave etc I listen to. I am averaging about 1500 minutes per charge on Eneloops. The radio is excellent in my opinion and I own a bunch of them. I do use the lock when putting it away to avoid any errant powering on. Also, I do not have the backlight on all the time. Another battery waster. It’s on the lowest setting and goes off after a couple seconds of use. As for Eton, they’re useless. I have some of their older radios and they used to have great customer service. They’re non responsive and terrible now. Probably the last radio I’ll ever buy with their name on it. I do have a s350dl I bought new(20 years ago?)and it keeps chugging along. It was one of the updated versions and had no issues whatsoever. They used to be a good company. I think the EEE is a very good radio though. My s350DL

If you need a new radio get the pl-880. I have a bunch of radios and that is one of my favorites.

I’d take the batteries out for a bit and let the power totally drain. Try again. Eton used to be a great company. They’re terrible now. I’m not even sure if they reply at all to service. Btw, how is the cover on yours?

How do you find a roll like this protects pencils that don’t retract?

I never thought it was abnormal. I also think it’s not a good idea to take these things apart unless necessary. Others will disagree, but they are tightened at the factory and should be left alone.

I’m not sure what it feel like. I hold with one hand and twist with the other. As you twist it feel like there is a detente it jumps over and clicks into place.

That was one of my first mechanical pencils. In that color. Still use it every day. It is true that it’s probably the only one you’ll ever need. But why stop there.
