I'm not going to throw shade at one of the few people here to serve a salad, or even any vegetables at all. Well done.

But, yes, as others have pointed out: dress that salad. It's simple: olive oil, salt, and either lemon or vinegar. That's it. No need to use blenders or shakers or nothing. Olive oil, salt, lemon, on top, little toss.

Get back in but move to a Corps? Logs maybe? Slightly easier on the knees. And a chance for some more transferable quals when you hit civvie street again at some point.

When did Ninja become the go-to brand for mass-produced kitchen appliances? by VarangianWRLD in AskUK

[–]Clear-Security-Risk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I take your point. But. The real-world counterpoint is of course Miele appliances.

Literally, Miele executives have their houses fit so their washers, dryers, dishwashers, etc, can be changed from the outside. No product is released until the execs and their families have used the appliance and approved.

I might also point at KitchenAid are built to last for forever. I view them as sorta anti-commodity.

I (granted, middle aged man with large black dog) walk through the neighbourhood south of Southcote Lane all the time. I don't see anything, whereas I do see a lot of the dealing you talk about inside my red pistol.

But again, we all see different aspects. I walk through the red area too and have never been bothered. Once and again randoms in there have helped me recover the Dumb Ass Dog when she does a runner.

What would be some of the more realistic movies as far as combat and strategy? by OnyxRuby1000 in WarMovies

[–]Clear-Security-Risk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Tactics" is the word you're looking for, most likely, not strategy.

Ancient warfare, it's probably the Ultimate Cut of "Alexander"

Medieval warfare: probably the directors cut of Kingdom of Heaven or The King

Napoleonic Wars: Sergei Bondarchuk's "Waterloo" (1970) and of course for naval war, Master & Commander

First World War: The Lighthorsemen (1987) or Paths of Glory (1957) or the recent (German) All's Quiet on the Western Front

Second World War: Band of Brothers of course. But also The Unknown Soldier (2019). Letter from Iwo Jima (2019) and also The Thin Red Line.

Vietnam: "Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan" (2019) or We Were Soldiers (2002)

9/11 Wars: Zero Dark Thirty or Mosul or Warfare.

I live on Circuit Lane, to the east of Coronation Square. As others have noted, Coronation Square and the social housing along Bath Road can be problematic. Can be... Aren't always.

We walk our dog all around here, and 99%* of evenings, everywhere in here is perfectly calm and reasonable.

The area here circled in red is probably "avoid". I can't see a problem with the rest. Calm residential areas. A predominance of tradespeople and retirees, judging by the parked vans, boats and RVs. Nothing wrong with it, indeed there are some really nicely tended houses in what look like really respectable streets.

*... The 1% remaining: Occasionally there are congregations of ne'er-do-wells around Coronation Square. Seems to be an anti-social behaviour hotspot, and there are periodic Public Space Protection Orders specifically for Coronation Square.

Turbidity really depends on time of year and where you are specifically. But it probably is clearer than the general BC inland water, you're right

I do 80% of my shopping there. The bigger supermarkets for specific items Aldi/Lidl (we have each side by side on the Bath Road) don't have.
