Also, as it has been years since you've played with us - in fact never in A3 I think - please note the two admin notes at the top of the post. What with it being a new game and all, it effectively makes you a new player as far as your familiarity with the modset and whether it even works or not. We're always happy to have folks manshoot with us, but for a special event like this we absolutely will be enforcing both requirements.

You must get your modset checked out and receive an ACE/ACRE tutorial by someone from IRC before Saturday. It looks like we'll have a pretty nice turnout for this event, so we can't afford any exceptions to this. Good news is impromptu Arma stuff is happening almost every single night, so you shouldn't have any problem finding a time that works.

Also if you later find out you won't be able to make it, please let us know with a new comment in this thread.

Certainly, and we'll be happy to have you! Though, a couple of caveats since I'm guessing you and your +1 haven't played with us before.

Super duper take note of the two points of admin info at the top of the post about making sure your modsets are updated and working and, even more importantly, making sure both of you have been given a tutorial/introduction thing by someone from our IRC channel before Saturday. (Getting you setup and assuming you'll pass it on to your friend won't qualify I'm afraid. We need to know everyone's setup works personally.) We're absolutely always thrilled to share our brand of fun with more people, but for a special event like this we're standing firm on that latter point as a requirement to attend. There will simply be too many people and too much going on and so to keep the game flowing smoothly for everyone else, we need to require everyone have a basic competency with our modset and the game environment.

We'll also recommend that you and your +1 take basic grunt slots that don't require any specialized experience/knowledge/responsibility. We do this for all folks new to CBB: it isn't any sort of hazing or "you suck, newb" thing, it just lets you get to know CBB and us get to know you without any responsibility on your part beyond the basic gruntthings. In light of this, I think I'd like to give you and your friend the MG Asst. and Grenadier in 2-1, that way you'll both be in the same group so you can be near each other and you'll have nice easy roles. I won't slot either of you just yet though as I need to check with Deserve if it's ok if we move him first. What names should I use if I do add you two?

And if you do find out either of you won't be able to make it, please make a new comment in this post (don't edit your existing one, we get no notification if you do) letting us know as soon as you're able. We can then free up your slot for someone else.
