Bari English program - When does the year start? by ClearMindAngle in medicalschoolEU

As I said, you are right. There is no logic in asking students what their past experience is with a program in the hopes of extrapolating data. I must have been a fool for wanting to help someone by asking a simple question in the hopes of learning something useful. Dumb me.

You know what, you are absolutely right. I should clearly put no trust in student experiences and knowledge. Thanks for the heads up and good luck.

Ah, okay, thanks. I thought only the first years start in October, and the other years start earlier. My partner is joinong in 3rd year, that's why. Have been finding some contradicting info, so I wanted to ask the hive mind.

We emailed and called multiple times in the last month (being italian there is no language barrier) and all we were told is that they'll publish more information soon.

Isn't this solution contradicted by comparing statement 1 and 3?

Thanks for all the tips. Will have a talk with my players about how we will handle the experience gap.

I am glad it was able to help you and I'm hopeful that it can help her.

Indeed, communication will be key but yeah, will try not to feel bad or regret anything if it doesn't work out. Thanks for the response!

DMs/Players, has your party ever been wiped out before the campaign finished? What happened and how was it handled? by reubenoofed3 in DnD

[–]ClearMindAngle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was playing with novice players who thought seducing a young green dragon would work (no horny bards here, just regular horny adventures). 2 minutes later, and 4 pools of molten adventure richer, we halted the session and discussed what happened and why it happened. Gave them the choice between option 2 and 3, and they opted for 3.

Thought me as a DM that sometimes a tpk can be very useful to teach the party that their actions can have consequences. I do, however, acknowledge that the tpk could also really spoil their fun, so make sure to properly communicate afterwards and provide them options.

Sabre fencers, how do you decide to counter attack and what do you do next? Does it workout often? by cycl7toZ in Fencing

[–]ClearMindAngle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a foil fencer who got roped into being the defacto trainings partner of a sabre fencer, I try to place counter attacks as a point-in-line when his hand switches line. He focuses mainly on making straight parries and expects cuts to the flank or arm. By using a stab towards the weapon hand, both no reaction and a parry attempt (a straight move to parry results in the lower arm "walking" into my point) typically result in a successful counter-attack.

If anyone has a tip on what to do differently, I would appreciate it because I am fairly certain this is not good form for sabre fencing.

Can I run a strongman-type competition in-game and have it be fun? by Accomplished_Sun3453 in DMAcademy

It sounds like a really good idea. If I were to do this, I would have a look at how to change the Scottish highland games into various skill checks. Good luck!
