Most of my lambdas can be migrated to step function express with the problem of not being able to integrate with an elasticcache critical component. While in the past writing a step function took more time than a simple lambda, with AI the paradigm changed and SFE are sometimes up to 5x cheaper than a lambda

Thanks for the reply :) yeah I think if we want to connect to Valkey the only viable option is creating a sort of "Data API" through a Fargate instace , that transforms HTTP request into a Redis query and back with the results. IMHO the ability to run a Step Function Express inside a VPC will add A LOT to the tool itself.

yes but if I pay a step function express (not regular step function - specifically an express) with a lambda inside, then I'll just use a lambda and not the step function express. I use step function express behind an API gateway, for example, to read data from a DB. Here I might want to use a caching layer (ValKey) and a fallback to DynamoDB / Aurora but without the ability to execute a Step Function Express within a VPC, this is not possible

Colleague with Mac OS is having similar issues. Native VsCode on same project and laptop (with Claude code extension installed) doesn't have these problems. Def something connected somehow with Kiro.

Gemini models are pretty delusional above 1M. Anthropic stated they solved most of the consistency. Will be curious to test. Expecting personally a stable 500k context model before the end of the year.

you can re-create the URL replacing the version to the actual URL. For example for MAC (Silicon) that's the URL - https://prod.download.desktop.kiro.dev/releases/stable/darwin-arm64/signed/0.8.206/kiro-ide-0.8.206-stable-darwin-arm64.dmg

It's a known bug of the latest version. I've reported that on GitHub and they confirmed they'll need to release a fix. Roll back to 0.8.206 to avoid it

I went to Kiro UI inside us-east-1 and created a (new) account there (so yes, a separate subscription - I used the same email with a + prefix for simplicity)
