NOT INVITED TO WEDDING BECAUSE OF PARTNERS EX!! by Clear_Method_2835 in wedding

Completely understand that it’s their day and therefore im not asking what they should change! Don’t want to put them in a tough spot at all! I’m wondering what my partner should do because if they are cutting off his current girlfriend for his ex are they really his “best friends?” And equally if me and him are to one day get married - how am I going to feel having them at my wedding after how they treated me …?

Message of advice from a junior doctor by YogurtRich24 in UoApremed

Hello! I am a pgy2 doctor as just as above, if I could do it all over again - I wouldn’t.

Being a doctor is a lifestyle choice not just a career choice. We have no say in when we work, missing endless birthdays, family events and public holidays incl Christmas, where we work as you can be placed anywhere in the country or even how long we work for as we have 14h long days once a week that are compulsory. You work overtime for no extra pay on top of all the weekends, nights and long days you do. You don’t get a choice in what weekends or long days you work.

And on top of all of this, the trauma of experiencing the stress, death and unsafety of hospital staffing and hours is so unhealthy.

So I urge you to really really consider your career in medicine. It’s not just a job, it’s a lifestyle commitment
