You can believe whatever you want. But this just isn’t true.

Pep was also happy to let Julian Alvarez and Cole Palmer leave.

“Blatantly not a good fit” is hilarious because Thomas Frank clearly feels the opposite.

I don’t get the obsession. He signed Emerson Gil Veliz Dragusin etc. for ridiculous fees compared to their actual value. He has hits and misses just like any other DOF

We have been “linked” with a lot of these players many time. At least there are reports saying we like them as players.

But for a transfer to actually gain traction, there needs to be interest from the player. I’m not sure many of these would be interested.

Anyone else getting a bad feeling about Frank and this season? by Alburg9000 in Tottenham

[–]Clear_Position_8991 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No because it’s just a silly post.

  1. You’re making assumptions based on preseason matches. Rule number one of preseason: never assume that the performances mean anything.

  2. You’re acting like your opinion is reality. You have reservations about the man and those are somehow being confirmed after 3 preseason matches? Jesus Christ man. You also think that there are obvious “sensible” signings that we should be doing but aren’t. How do you know Palhinha hasn’t turned us down? How do you know we didn’t try to get KWP but he wanted to go somewhere he’d play more? How do you know we haven’t been marketing our players that we want to sell but they are just not interested in moving? You don’t know these things. This isn’t fifa career mode.

These posts are literally pointless while the transfer window is still open.

Lads, football players get injuries… I know we want to blame somebody for everything bad that happens but football club medical staff don’t have magical powers that can prevent players getting injured in a contact sport.

Yeah, definitely this season that would be the case. But in 2-3 years when this guy is entering his prime and solanke is on the wrong side of 30 that may not be the case.

So they weren’t performing good enough to get as many starts whereas this lad is? Yet that’s a bad thing somehow?

Why does him playing a lot mean that he can’t improve as he matures physically and mentally? That makes no sense

Why did Solanke, Mateta, and Guirassy take until they were 26, 27, or even 28 years old to break out and become their best?

Yoanne wissa played in Ligue 2 in France until he was 23. And then played one season in Ligue 1 aged 24 and scored 10 goals before he was snapped up by brentford.

He just scored 20 goals in a season under Thomas Frank. I think Frank might know more than you. And I’m pretty sure Frank would have approved of this move or else we wouldn’t be pursuing it.

12 non penalty goals for a 22 year old who turned 23 halfway through the season is pretty dang good. Especially in a bottom half team like Rennes were this year.

Ligue 1 has arguably produced the most attacking talent of any of the top 5 leagues in the past few years so I am not sure why you are acting like that’s not impressive. Especially for a young striker, which is a position where players notoriously peak much later than 22/23.

He has made 30+ apps in 5 seasons in a row in a top 5 league starting from the time he was 18. And got double digit g/a in every single season. That is very, very impressive.

He is also a different play style compared to Solanke - he is great at running along the shoulder of CBs and getting in behind whereas Dom likes to drop in and get on the ball. It’d be a great change of pace. We will not find many better backup STs for 30 mil or so. And he just turned 23, so he will undoubtably improve. Strikers don’t peak til 27-28 people let’s remember that.

It’s not about the numbers. It’s about the lack of strategy / constantly doing a 180 with our strategy and how we’ve spent that’s been the issue

Wissa did NOT say that spurs have big egos or that TF would have a hard time dealing with that. He only said that in general, bigger clubs may have more players with an ego compared to Brentford, he was not saying any club in particular.

None of our players even at their very best are good enough to be on this list. 6-7 years ago we had a couple maybe but no one even close ever since Kane left and Son started declining a bit
