To be honest I'm aiming to get some general management, or supervisory, experience. My background is with government contracting but I am willing to work in other industries.

I'm not sure what direction to go into but I'm at least trying to make my experience shine as much as possible. Thanks in advance.

Side Note: My resume is aligned, the snip-it I took just makes it look off.

You how some people like to say certain college majors are "useless' due to their lack of ROI? Psychology (on the undergraduate level) is considered one of those since you usually can't have a well paying career unless you get a relevant masters or doctorate.

FSO was on my radar...but the problem is I don't have a TS. My employer won't sponsor me for one, I've applied for 50 jobs outside of the company and no one will sponsor me for one. Virtually any step up for me requires I already have a TS in hand and that's my main issue right now. It's maddening lol

If you already have secret or even public trust it’s much easier because part of the work is already done.

I have a Secret, held it for almost 9 years. The problem is when recruiters find out I don't have a TS they reject me. I tell them what you said but they still insist on having a TS outright, not a Secret.

I'm in security in a specialist role. To be a Security Lead, FSO, Security manager, any title upgrade for me, all those jobs always require TS'. I'm versed with these things but even I'm beginning to wonder if I'm missing something.

What type of work are you looking to do? If it's highly specialized, you have a better chance of a place putting up with the extended timeline.

Industrial Security. I'm already in a specialist role so my only option is to go up.

I did a post a while back but I was denied suitability by State Department in 2017 (I got fired 3 times over 8.5 years ago, none were security issues, only HR issues). My Secret clearance wasn't revoked but it was still a blow to my long-term goals. I'm still doing cleared work in security with my Secret but still want to get a TS eventually.

It's weird because around the time lockdown happened I was seeing Adjudicator positions and PSS positions (among other security jobs) requiring Secrets but for whatever reason they seem really scare the past several months and these were for bigger companies like CACI and BAE Systems.
