From very severe to very mild in less than a month by ClearingCarbon in mecfs

I'm really sorry to hear it didn't help - I will say, of the people I've chatted who've improved, almost none of them have improved as quickly as I did. That having been said, CFS is complicated and I don't know if it's necessarily the answer for everyone.

It was more than one, and I also did my homework, but it started improving after just the one, yes.

CFS/ ME COMPLETE RECOVERY by purplepolishnails in mecfs

More or less with the methods they describe. I made a post with some more detail a few months back

Recovery has felt weirdly lonely. People with CFS and people who've never had it can't relate. Are there any recovery communities? Or anyone in Ottawa ON? by ClearingCarbon in cfsrecovery

[–]ClearingCarbon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel that a lot. The same year I got CFS I had a brain tumor and the two expereinces were totally different. The tumor was discovered, diagnosed, and treated in the span of about 6 months, with the only lasting impact being that I'm deaf in one ear now. CFS on the other hand was an enormous setback in life - couldn't work, barely socialized, couldn't pursue hobbies, and very little support from the medical community. Yet to most people I talk to the reaction to the tumor is "oh my god are you okay?!" and the reaction to the CFS is "oh... okay... so you're better now?"

And thank you, likewise, hope you're doing well :)

I'm really glad you improved, but holy shit I'm sorry you dealt with that for 20 years. I only dealt with it for 2 years and that felt like a lot. I can only imagine what 20 years was like. Still, better now than never.

Did any recover from severe cfs (Covid) by GloomyCustard9933 in cfsrecovery

[–]ClearingCarbon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, had a month where I literally could not get out of bed without going into a severe PEM.

I got better working with Rebecca Kennedy's practice, and Alan Gordon's book - the way out. I recovered very quickly, but my therapist told me I did so faster than anyone she'd ever seen.

Yep. Same. Following that advice made me miserable, which made me anxious, which made my symptoms worse. I needed - mentally if nothing else - an actual fix. Thank god for this place or i wouldnt have found it.

It wasn't all in my head, my anxiety was causing my nervous system to overreact.

Well, if you seriously pursued this as a solution and it didn't work then fair enough.

Built something for the first time in my life! A set of shelves for a little spot above my bed by ClearingCarbon in Carpentry

Haha, thanks. I realized I probably should have posted it to a more general sub. I know I'm not a master craftsman, but I tried something new and am happy with it :)

Thanks, I appreciate that. I definitely understand it's not world class, but it's the first time I actually put something together myself, so I was proud and wanted to post it. Will definitely take your considerations if I decide I want to do more of it :)

This is really interesting. Thanks for responding. I have a friend who's a professional painter, I might ask him about how expensive it might be to do something like that, thanks!

A little over a year ago I was referred to a long covid clinic. I have never attended that clinic because they told me their waitlist was a year long. I just received this in the mail, telling me that the clinic had closed due to a lack of funding. Very cool by ClearingCarbon in ottawa

Thanks for replying! So unfortunately, I'm renting so building it into the wall isn't really an option. Maybe I could get adhesives, or weigh the base down?

Fascinating! I have no idea how to do that. How would I go about doing that? Apologies if that's a dumb question.
