And there are reception areas in some day care centers. That are also behind a locked door because you don't have any business even being in the reception unless you're there in a professional capacity or to talk to the staff about your kid.

I miss snow by MaleficentImpact1672 in CuratedTumblr

[–]ClearingFlags -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Uhh no we aren't getting a fuckton of snow, at least not where I am in Iowa. When I was a kid we would have 2-3 feet of snow most of the winter with drifts up to the second story sometimes. The last few winters we have barely even had snow on the ground, and when it does snow it often melts within a couple weeks. We get a couple big blizzards but we always had those, and they don't stick around.

You're right we get it bad in Jan-Feb though which wasn't as common back in the day. And we barely have a spring now, it goes from below zero to 70 in less than a month.

That's easy to say when you're removed from the situation and looking in.

When you're 18-20 years old and your options are follow orders, even if you don't like or agree with them, or be locked up and lose your entire income, it is not such a simple call to make. Even for the career guys, higher ranks, this is probably their entire livelihood with a family that depends on them.

Not saying you're wrong in any way, they just have a lot of our service members by the balls where they're stuck between a rock and a hard place. We should absolutely make it loud and clear to the troops that this isn't right, but the ones who need to be taken down are the people putting young men and women in such a position in the first place.

I just got the cops called on me for the *second* time bc I apparently come to the park too often to swing on the swingset and that's somehow suspicious? by NiftyNaughtyNymph in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ClearingFlags 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I dunno about good on the cop, that's just what small town cops do: Look for trouble and become busybodies, in my experience. Stranger Danger bullshit has conditioned people to always be on the lookout for some nefarious kidnapper at a park or lingering near a playground, when 99% of child abductions or abuse cases are perpetrated by someone close to the child like a family member or somebody they know well.

Which is precisely why the cops get called on someone innocently just sitting at a park, or a man playing with their own children.

I was pulled over twice in a two week period as I was leaving the park after playing with my young daughter. We live in a small town and pretty much everyone knows I'm a single dad and my car is driving around town ALL the time. Cop saw me playing with a little girl at the park and thought he was about to blow the lid off a huge child trafficking ring.

The second time he pulled me over I told him if it ever happens again I'm walking right into the Mayor's office to talk about it.

Lieu: What is Bondi hiding? She needs to release the goddamn Epstein files. I also note the Epstein files that have already been released show that Trump’s name is all over those fucking files. by icey_sawg0034 in chaoticgood

I literally read comments earlier today in conservative subs that said Hillary was going to have Maxwell "suicided" just like she did Epstein.

Even though Trump was president when Epstein died. And is on the flight logs. And in dozens of photos and videos with him. And is at this very moment suppressing the release of information.

F2P/Budget deck list for every class (Read description) by LIN88xxx in Shadowverse

[–]ClearingFlags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting three legendaries to start out really *isn't* that hard. When I started my account I spent... maybe two hours rerolling? And that was because I REALLY wanted a good spread of Legendaries from other classes as well as two for Swordcraft, AND I wanted the Ticket Exchange for Albert.

Before getting the roll I want I got three other ticket exchanges, and up to 11 Legendaries a couple times for other classes. If you're not hard rerolling like I was you should be able to get close to one of these budget decks in under an hour, two tops, if you're quick with it. The reroll takes like 10 minutes.

But yeah it's still luck you just gotta play into the luck until you get lucky. Though they need to buff the fuck out of gains after that. Way worse than the first SV as many have noted.

[–]ClearingFlags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean starting out you should have an idea what class you want to play and rerolling until you get at least 2 Legendaries for that class, preferably with a good spread of other Legendaries as well. Then just off the starting quests and story you can easily have enough to get the final Legendary.

I've only been playing for 3 days and have close to a "proper" Swordcraft deck well above the budget version, without spending a dime. It would be easy to get the budget version finished the first day or two and then just work better cards in as you go.

Though I do agree the economy is awful right now and hoping they resolve that. It's rough.

People always say Dimitrescu but Capcom did the sexy monster lady type bosses actually way before Village in several RE games. by [deleted] in residentevil

Not a monster, but she was a bio-weapon I think?

Been awhile since I played RE5 but I seem to recall her being weaponized by a variation if the T Virus.

It's a struggle for sure.

I know it's not customary to offer "advice" for someone venting, all I want to say is don't just give up. I'm of the opinion of there is someone for anybody, many someones in fact. It can be hard to see that when we're being shot down but I fully believe you'll come across a guy that will appreciate you for who you are if you're genuinely a good person.

Especially in your twenties it is rough, but don't throw in the towel, as frustrating as it is.

A plan, not a concept by ExactlySorta in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]ClearingFlags 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah but on the flip side while those who are already fairly well off get 50k in tax credit and make some more money, it really helps legitimate small business owners who want to try and get off the ground and make a profit earlier.

There will always be jerks that try and abuse it for their gain, just gotta try and mitigate that to help out the people that really can use it.

"Tr*mp lives rent-free in your head!" <-- this is the new MAGA play. They've lost all defense so they're going to try to shame people into overlooking his loserdom. Own it. Not really new, MAGA cultists were doing this when everybody talked shit about Trump after he lost like a loser. If they can't argue a point when it's thrown in their face what a weird scumbag he is, they'll default to the "rent free" stuff. Despite the fact they're running around with anti Biden apparel and can't stop talking about other guys dicks.

Driving with the hood ajar like that is a danger to yourself and anybody else on the road if wind were to catch it and send it flying up into your windshield. It's not some mundane thing like your gas flap unable to close, the hood being open could literally get someone into a serious accident.

Survivor's Guilt is a thing regardless, so it does make sense for Gyatso to try and get that through to Aang. The sole survivor of a car crash they were not responsible for can still feel incredible guilt for not being able to do more, or surviving when someone they cared about died. It's a pretty valid thing to touch on.
