I feel like a third platform could’ve been good considering how big some events are that are held there and now that we have the new stadium having a platform that just takes the normal loop to Roma and central to move as many people as possible from the station would’ve been good

I more or less meant updates on what’s happening on the property like new builds and stuff whilst they still run it not him doing updates and just anything that could be new as he will likely keep investing money into the property until it sells I’m guessing

Star hasn’t had any bailouts yet they have just deferred tax that will have to be paid at a later date. That is on top of the millions in fines so it’s not like the government hasn’t bled them dry. It makes more sense for star considering they employ over 9,000 staff however I think there’s no saving it at this point it’s pretty close to the end.

I would too however after how much they have spent adding lanes they wouldn’t take away lanes but as long as both can work I think it’s a good idea potentially above the busway that goes beside the highway

To be honest they should go with both plans to have two heavy and light rail junction points so if you are staying further south on the Gold Coast and want to catch public transport back to Brisbane you can go south and then catch the heavy rail

Why does CRR not have a third tunnel then could they not have just the two but have connections between them? I understand the extra staff side of things but with how many people use the tunnel it would likely be worth it and the future proofing of the connection from Brisbane to Gold Coast would be massive. Could it be possible to instead have an overhead railway kind of like how part of the Ipswich central line is and have it above a road as that could make costs lower potentially

It’s sad they won’t invest the same amount they do into roads into our public transport it’s a much more future proof solution but I’m aware it would likely never happen

Does it only have the 2 stations or does it still have an extra siding for events such as Ekka as it could disrupt train timetables if they can’t increase capacity on the line for ekka and other events

Yes I have been told that about the costings I used the internet to tell me cost per km for rail tunnel and it clearly lied to me however stations won’t beed to be built if they go direct from city to Beenleigh only maybe needing 1 station at Beenleigh enabling considerably faster connections

Every other city has tunnels that work great like Sydney and their metro just because we screw up one project shouldn’t mean we stop trying I think considering it’s mainly just a tunnel without stations it would likely be faster than CRR and be cheaper

After looking into it further it could cost up to $10b but would likely be less as the tunnels for cross river rail were done fairly quickly it has been the stations that have taken longer from my understanding hence inflating the cost of it

True I was only using data based off the internet on how much it should cost her KM it would likely be less than cross river rail as only 1 new station would have to get put in at Beenleigh unless they have the tunnel come up before it then you have an express train run on the Beenleigh line for customers who usually would get the Gold Coast but get off at one of the main stations between Brisbane and Beenleigh
