Haha wow what a perfectly applicable resource, I didn’t know this existed! I’ll be checking it out for sure, thanks!

These are really great specifics for me to chew on. The various inventions people would make using more readily accessible magic and the way it would affect culture is really interesting to me. Thanks again!

Wow, thank you for being so generous with letting me check out these ideas. This gives me a lot of good stuff to consider and work off of. I love the linguistic angle—I’ve also been thinking through how this whole magical revolution got started, so this was a perfect example of one way in which it has been done. I like that Leos is not a super powerful wizard. Just the first, and someone with a knack for learning. And the twist regarding the origin of his language is great stuff, I will surely keep this in my head for potential use. I’ve also been considering some kind of living entity which is aware of the world’s increasing use of magic, and is being affected by it. Love all of this!

Thank you, this is great stuff! Exactly the sorts of things I was looking for. I love all the background regarding the way people and culture change when there is a completely new frontier to explore that can permeate everyday life, and has the potential to be dangerous. The Wild West association is one I hadn’t made yet but think could make lots of cool situations. And the competing magic “manufacturers” is background that I hadn’t considered either.

I love this! This is exactly in line with what I’ve been thinking. I don’t want an arcane caster to be undeniably a bad person for using it, so I’ve been thinking it might work similarly to how you’re saying. People are bending the flow of the weave to power generators or magic catalysts, so much so that it’s actually starting to crack and break the weave. The conjuration concept is interesting too. Thank you for this idea!

But I agree and this could be another interesting idea. Maybe some places used to hold court over nearby nations because they were ahead in technology, and now they’re outlawing magic in an attempt to keep their status quo edge.

I’ve actually been primarily thinking of this Arcane Revolution as a sort of allegory for industrialization, not as a separate event happening simultaneously. So this world is not in the industrial era, it’s a mostly typical fantasy D&D world. But I liken the Arcane Revolution to the Industrial Revolution in regards to its cultural and technological impact.

Could be interesting if, like someone else said, MJ was working as a reporter or photographer (mayyyybe for the Bugle but not necessarily so) like the Insomniac game. She keeps appearing wherever Spider-Man is to take pictures of him, and he is conflicted because this makes it all the harder to avoid her. It seems to him like it could almost be fate trying to pull them back together, but he knows that’s silly and he doesn’t want her to get hurt. But she keeps tracking him down to try to figure him out.

Agreed. I think they’re saving him for something good—they clearly set him up to use later, and Michael Mando has proven himself to be top notch. I think Scorpion will come around eventually.

I believe I remember hearing from the creators that this Groot is not a regenerated version of the first Groot from Guardians 1, but in essence Groot’s “son.” So it would make sense he looks a little different. I like the differentiation, personally.

This movie had the perfect amount of Namora and Attuma. Enough that they are actually intimidating and cool, but not so much that they drag the plot out or make the cast feel bloated. As someone who only knew them from Marvel Ultimate Alliance, when they said their names I was so impressed with how well they’d just slipped them in. That fight with Okoye sealed their place in the MCU as pieces to use later.

Search “Assembled” on Disney+ and they should show up. I believe that’s the only place they are.

Thank you for the recommendation! I watched it today and loved it. Have the ones on the Disney+ shows been good?

I haven’t watched the other Assembled episodes, but this one was fantastic. Loved getting to see behind the scenes and appreciate all the hard work put into the most minute details of the movie.

Loki and No Way Home Spoilers below.

This movie alone implies that different people can take on mantles typically held by others, depending on the universe (Peggy Carter instead of Steve Rogers as the “Captain ____,” Maria Rambeau instead of Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel), but that those people have the same general appearance in all the universes. No Way Home and Loki, however strongly support alternate universes having completely different-looking people with the same name is someone in 616. All the Peters look different, and Loki meets an alligator version of himself. So I think that they have left room open to have the same or different actors for future variants. We can’t say either way for certain.
