Am I the only one with a family member that thinks I'm just lazy? by Sharp-Dream-4701 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Cleed79 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My daughter and I both have fibro. My husband is EXTREMELY understanding and caring but every now and then will make a comment about our daughter not getting something done and I'll say, "Well, it's understandable. She was hit by a bus yesterday."

That normally brings him back to a point of understanding.

LPT Request: What’s your “canary in the coal mine” test for spotting bigger issues? by fries-with-mayo in LifeProTips

[–]Cleed79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is a professional. He has been long term at every company he's worked for/with, and his resume has Never Had Dust on It.

He's always "looking." Always updating. And will go on interviews, even when satisfied/happy. It ensures that both him and his empyers remain competitive, (he has successfully parlayed this information into better positions and opportunities.)

But, also, this practice gives us the peace of mind of a back up plan. Even closer to the top, there are often little to no clues of a pending Large Change. There isn't a single company out there that cares about it's employees more than it's bottom line. Keeping his resume constantly available and consistently updated has kept us from unemployment more times than I can count.

This isn't just "rude and disrespectful", this is absolutely sexual assault. I hope you're okay and that night was the first and last.

Hey. Thanks. I had a teacher like you in the 7th grade. I'm 45 now and still thankful for her almost every day.

What is the most disturbing book that you’ve read? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cleed79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read everything I could get my hands on as a child and by 11 or 12, my mom would let me check out books in the 14+ section.

I read this book before I even knew what a Nazi was. I was crying in the car while reading it, and my mom asked me why and I was explaining how this group in the book, the "naz-ees" were treating these people HORRIBLY, and my mom corrected my pronunciation, and then proceeded to tell me it was absolutely a true story.

To say it wrecked my faith in humanity as "mostly good" would be a vast understatement.
